New Nightmare 2
Scene 9

Josh is walking into his bathroom, yawning, wearing his boxer
shorts as he is preparing for bed.  He walks into his bedrooms
bathroom, and looks at himself in the mirror.  He reaches to 
the mirror, and pulls it open to grab his toothbrush and 
toothpaste out from inside.  He starts to run the water, 
leaving the mirror open.  He then starts to brush his teeth. 
In the process of brushing his teeth he closes the mirror, and
Freddy is in the mirror, and grabs him as soon as he get's it
closed.  Freddy pulls him through as Josh is struggling to get
free from Freddy.  After he is pulled through the mirror, it 
goes back to normal mirror and in it's reflection can be seen
Josh on his bed, sleeping.

CUT

Kids-voiceover
1...2...Freddy's coming for 
you.

Josh is laying on the ground in front stairwell to Freddy's 
house.  Josh doesn't know where he is or why.  Sure he knows
about Freddy, but he only knows him as Robert, and this house
as a set.  But now as he is looking around, seeing no place
for the walls to give away.  He in fact starts to feel around
the walls to see if they are fake, and to see where he could
seperate them to get out.  

Kids-voiceover
3...4...Better Lock your door

Josh-Shouting
Your NOT REAL!  None of this
is real!

Freddy-voiceover
I am real.  Real in enough
in your dreams.
hahahahaaa

Josh
My dad created you.  You are
not real.  You are not real.

Freddy appears behind Josh

Freddy
But I am real.  Made real
when they killed off Freddy
in the movies.

Josh had quickly turned as soon as he heard Freddy's voice, and he 
backed away.  Now Josh turns and runs from him, down the hallway
to the end where the kitchen is.  

He runs into a brightly lit linoleum floored room with bright 
fluorescents lights.  The whole room is extremely sterile.  David 
and Candy are both in the room, but niether one of them see or hear 
Josh.  Josh runs to them, 

Josh
David, Candy, Help me, he's
after me.

They don't acknowledge him, they just keep talking to each other.

Candy
We have to find a way to get 
him to believe us.  I don't
want to lose him.

David
I know, but I don't know how 
to do it without losing a 
friend.

David grabs the coffee pot they are both standing next to, and
adds more to his cup.  He then holds it out to Candy, and she
extends her cup.

Josh stands there, watching them as they just ignore him.  
Looking around, afraid for the moment that Freddy will be coming
in after him.

The lights start to flicker.  The walls start to ooze blood from
the cieling, and the glass from the coffee pot explodes.  Josh
gets showered by glass with minor cuts.  There is a pulstating 
noise from outside the making the room start to crumble.  David
and Candy's conversation can barely be heard.

Candy
Why did he come no to us?
He was a movie character?
How could he be here now?

David
I don't know.  But it has
to be that he is coming 
after friends of Josh, 
and Josh is Wes Craven's 
son.  Maybe, some kind of
revenge against his creator?

Josh did't hear much of the conversation, he was backing away 
from them, looking around, hoping to find a place to hide.  When
the table starts buckle as though some great weight has come 
onto it suddenly, Josh dashes out of the room, the opposite way
he had come.  

CUT

Josh stands in a long hallway with 5 doors on each side of 
him.  At the end of the hallway is another door.  Josh pauses for
a moment as the hallway sinks in to him, before he starts to 
walk into it.  He makes it to the first pair of doors across each
other when he hears a voice behind him.  Freddy.

Freddy
Oh, a little fly...,
caught in my web.
Ahhahaha.

Josh turns around and sees Freddy standing in the doorway 
behind him. 

In a panic he goes through the door to his left.  He immediatly 
comes out the door on the right.  

Freddy is still standing there in the doorway.

Freddy
Hey Joshua.  You daddy's
waiting for ya.

Wes Craven's voice can be heard screaming off in the distance.  
Josh runs down to the next pair of doors and goes into the door 
on his right.  This time he comes out the door he first went 
into.  

Freddy
Makes you think...
You were in a cartoon.

He runs down to the next set of doors, and goes into the one on 
his left, and as he goes in, he comes out the door at the same time
(mirror).  He stops to look at it for a moment, and notices that 
something seems changed.  He starts to look around and notices that 
the room has changed.  It now looks as though he is in a computer 
3D animated cartoon.  Scooby Doo is standing next to Josh, and 
Josh is wearing shaggy's clothes from the old Scooby Doo cartoon.  
Josh looks at Scooby and then himself, and then up at Freddy.

Even though this moment has a comic element, it should be 
dark, and keeping with the scary tone.  This is a warped 
redoing of the cartoon.  Not done for kids, but to throw Josh 
a scare, and to do something a little different.  He stills 
stands in the hallway, and it is dark, but now just in the 
animation that looks incredibly real.
