New Nightmare 2
Scene 14

Candy is laying on the couch, watching the television.  She is
resting her head on her arm, just casually paying attention to
what is on the tv.  Her attention just seems to drift, around
the room, and anything.  She is tired, and unfocused.

A shot from behind the couch, not seeing her, but yet the camera 
moves slowly forward.  Until the point of being near seeing her.

She looks up, almost over her shoulder, but then goes back to 
not really paying attention to anything.

The bookshelf, a hardcover book entitled, "A Dream to Die by."
Freddy's one knived finger reaches to the top of the book, and 
slowly pulls the book out.

The book falls to the floor, but Freddy is not in the shot.  The
book makes a loud clap, as it hits the hard wood floor.

Candy looks up suddenly.  Then slowly she starts to sit up and 
look around her, and behind her.  She see's the book fallen 
from the bookshelf behing her.  She stands up, and starts to 
walk to the book.  

She reaches down to pick up the book.  She pulls the opened book 
off of the floor, and turns it around to look at the page it is
opened up to.

Close up of the page.  It reads, "For those who die in their sleep,
Will never wake up in the morning."  That line is repeated through
out the entire page.  

Candy starts to shake her head back and forth, as she forces the 
book to go back into place.  

She walks back to the couch, and starts to settle down like she 
had been previously, taking a few seconds to try and again get 
comfortable.  She finally settles for a semi as comfortable 
position, and lays there.   She starts to stifle a yawn.

Camera cuts away to the book as it falls out of the shelf again.

Candy looks up suddenly, this time not so sure of herself.  She
is starting to shake nerviously(meaning her hands are shaking
slightly), and her breath is a little less steady.

Candy
David!...Josh!...
Anyone there.

The book flips over to the other side, so the open pages are facing 
up.  

Candy stands from the couch quickly, and starts to back away 
from the book.  She backs up towards the curtianed windows.  
The television is going in the right foreground.

Candy
David!  Josh!
Where are you guys?

The book with it’s pages facing upward.  They start to flip back 
and forth through out the book.  Until the pages stop.  There is 
a picture of Freddy, under it is captioned “Sleeping Disorder”

Candy is moving away from the windows trying to make her way to 
the door.  She makes it past the windows and starts to run to the 
door.  She opens it.

She stands in a doorway, but beyond the threshold of the door 
there is nothing there.  The room is on the edge of nothing 
except blackness.  She reaches out, and grabs the door, and as 
she pulls it close

Cut to her closing the door, and standing there in the room.  As 
an after thought, she turns around and locks the door.  

CUT

David walks down the halls towards the door to the living room, 
with his coffee cup in hand and her coffee cup in the other.  He 
walks into the living room(there is no door) 

CUT

Candy stands there leaning against the door, when David walks in, 
right through her.  She stairs at him in horror as he continues 
to walk to the couch.  

When David sees her alseep there on the couch, he quickly puts 
down both the coffees and trys to shake her awake.  

Candy stares at him as he is trying to wake her up.  She slowly 
walks towards him.

Candy
David?  David!

As she says that, she hears the echo from the television sceen.  
She turns to look at the screen.  

Shot of her looking at the screen in the foreground and in the 
background, the television screen.  A mirror effect of her 
looking at the screen.  Her breath catches in her throat. 

She starts to move towards the screen.

The camera starts to move towards Candy keeping the screen in 
the background.  Freddy’s claw starts to reach out on both 
formats.  She sees it and whirls around.

There is no one there.  She turns back to the television.  
Freddy has the Candy on the television in his right hand, and 
has his left hand pulled back ready to strike.  

Freddy
This is your world, I just 
Kill in it.

CUT

David is shaking Candy trying to wake her up.  (The dreaming 
Candy is not there.  Nor is the television even on)

David
Wake up, come on, Wake up.

David looks up as Josh is coming into the room.

Josh
Oh no.

CUT

Candy is look at the screen as Freddy strike the on screen 
Candy in the midsection.  The camera pulls back and around 
to face Candy.  She looks down at herself, seeing the blood
as it trickles through her shirt.  She starts to cry in 
pain.  Then she looks up.

Freddy stands there, in front of her.  His glove pulled back.

CUT

David stops shaking the body to wake her up.  He slowly 
moves back staring at the blood.  David lifts up her shirt,
not to the point of showing her breasts, to show the claw
marks, and the blood spilling out from the wounds.

Candy is convulsing from the pain on the couch, All Josh 
and David can do for her is to hold her, 

Josh
Wake up!  Come one 
Candy, wake up.

Candy stops convulsing.

Josh drops along the side of the couch, in a state of shock.
