Roadside Assistance Scene 36-40 Revised 2/11/00 36. Int. Annette's Apartment, Near Midnight Annette is looking terribly tired, and stressed out from arguing with her husband all night. She is sitting on her bed, tired with her head hanging low. Annette But what are we going to do? What? Cameron Well maybe you should have thought about that before you got yourself fired. Annette It's not like it did it on purpose. I didn't do anything wrong. Cameron-raising his voice If you didn't do anything wrong, then Why!... Why Annette did you get fired? Annette Cameron, please, keep you voice down. Don't wake up the babies. Cameron And the babies. How are we supposed to feed them. Keep them warm. Take care of them like good little parents? Annette I know. What can I do, I'm sorry. But we have talked about this. Tomorrow, I will go and find a new job. Cameron You sure as hell better. Cameron leaves her there sobbing on the bed as he is rushing to the bedroom door. Annette There are you going? Annette hurries off of the bed out into the hallway after him. She sees him at the end of the hallway putting on his coat and boots. Cameron It's Friday, and I need a drink Annette So even though we have hardly any money, what we do have you are going to spend. Cameron It's either that or stay here looking at you ugly ass face. He has his coat on, as he is preparing to walk out the door, outside into the night. He opens the door. END OF SCENE 36 37. Outside of Annette's Apartment. continious Their vandalized car is in the foreground as Cameron comes rushing out. Annette follows him. Cameron Cameron, please don't. We need that money. We can't afford for you to go out. Cameron continues to walk down the sidewalk to the street. It is a one way. Going the wrong way up in the background is the black truck. Moving very slowly. Cameron is standing in the street trying to unlock his door. Annette comes over there to the drivers side door, and tries to take the keys away from him. Cameron What you trying to do, girl? Annette I'm trying to keep you from making a mistake. Cameron Then you should have kept me from marrying you. Cameron continues to fight with her over the keys until he gets fed up and slaps her. Hard. She recoils for a second, but then comes back with a knee to the groin. He kneels over. She grabs the keys, and starts to push him back towards the apartment. Annette You've never tried to hit me before, I don't know why you seem to think you can now. The truck is only a car length away from them now. Annette just finishes getting Cameron out from the street and inbetween cars, having to help him because of his crushed balls. She then hears a reving of an engine and turns just in time to see the headlights close to her. The truck quickly excellerates to hit her. The truck screeches to a stop. Close up of a tail light as the brake is applied. Then the reverse lights come on. The truck lurches forward again, and there is a thump as the truck runs over the body. Cameron, moving still slow and in pain comes out into the street, and kneels next to Annette. He looks up to see if the truck is gone. Instead he sees that the truck is coming back, speeding at him in reverse. Cameron quickly ducks in between the two cars, where he had previously been, and watches as the truck goes by, and then the squeeling as the truck slams on it's breaks. Cameron stays there quietly listening to his own breath, listening for the truck. Slowly it rolls in front of where he is hiding. It stops there for a second, and the Dark One revs up the engine. Then The Dark One puts it in car, and the truck takes off quickly. END OF SCENE 37 38. Ext. Car Wash, Midnight Officer 2 is rubbing his eyes, as he is tired, but doesn't really want to sleep. Not in his car again at least. He runs his hands through his hair, and then settles back closing his eyes. END OF SCENE 38. 39. Int. Officer 2's Mistress house, Some Day, cloudy Mistress So she found out, huh? Officer 2 Yes, I told her. Mistress Why? Officer 2 Is it really important. Mistress Yes, I really want to know. That way when you decide to cleanse you soul to your partner I will know why when he comes to kill me. That is, of course, after he kills you. Officer 2 I had to tell her, she had me dead aim, there was no way out of it. Mistress What did she do, huh, what? Officer 2 She followed me and took pictures. Then while she was down on me last night, she squeezed my balls. She was holding them gently in her hands, and then she just started to squeeze. Then when I was trying to recover, she walked over to the dresser, and through the pictures down on my chest. Mistress I guess she really had you by the balls Officer 2 But now what am I going to do? Mistress. It's your life, you fuckin' figure it out. END OF SCENE 38 39. Ext. Cermak Rd. and Harlem, Near One a.m. The red glow from the stop lights as it reflects off of the truck. The truck slowly turns right, as the red light shines on the frame of the truck. The camera stays on the red glow. END OF SCENE 39 40. Ext. Woodhiem Cemetary, Minutes Later The Truck slowly pulls into the cemetary, through the open gates of the cemetary. It eases to a stop, as the camera shoots the wheels. The bottom of the drivers side door, as the door opens. The Dark One, wearing his black jeans and boots, gets out. The camera follows him, rising up to his waste level with his greasy arms at his side. He walks around to the front of the truck, with blood splattered all over the front of the grill, and the headlight. He reaches out Close up of his right hand as he runs his fingers along his grill, and then pull them into the light to reveal the blood. It seems to drip off, and run off of his fingers. Extreme Close up of his forehead, as he starts to rub the blood onto his forehead. Close up of his left arm as he starts to rub the blood on. The truck's grill is in the background, and The Dark One makes repeated attempts for more blood to continue to rub on. Extreme Close up of his mouth as he licks some blood off of his fingers. Shot from behind of his waist as he walks back to the drivers side door. He gets in. The truck slowly starts to pull forward. END OF SCENE 40 Scenes 41-45
