Roadside Assistance Scene 61-70 Revised 2/20/00 61. Int. Inside Police Station, Outside the Interrogation Room, simultaneous Officer 1 comes out of the interrogation room. His face is red. Officer 3 is standing just outside the door waiting for him. Officer 3 Anything? Officer 1 The bastard keeps saying mocking "I didn't do it" Officer 3 Show him the evidence? Officer1 Not yet. Officer 3 Public Attorney is itching to talk to his client. Officer 1 I figured he was. Any word from the witness? Officer 3 Yeah, he just got here about three minutes ago. Officer 1 Okay, get the lawyer in there, and get that psycho ready for a line up. Officer 3 Okay, right now the witness is out identifying the truck. Officer 1 Okay, when you hear anything more let me know. I have to go lay down for a minute. Officer 3 gives a pat on the back of Officer 1, and then goes into the interrogation room END OF SCENE 61 62. Int. Police Station, Half hour later. Officer 3 is turning on the lights in the room. In the room there is the Public Attorney in a cheap suit, Officer 1, Officer 3 by the lights, and Cameron. Public Attorney He said that none of these people were the ones. Officer 1 But it was dark, wasn't it Mr. Stevens. All you could see was the truck, which you have identified. Cameron It wasn't him behind the wheel. The face is all wrong. Officer 1 You couldn't have made a positve ID. Re will type up your statement, and you can sign it before you leave. Thank you for your time. Officer 1 gives the Public Attorney a dark gaze before he storms out of the room. END OF SCENE 62 63. Int. Interrogation Room, continious Officer 1 storms into the room, and slams his fists down on the table in front of Adam who is sitting behind the table. Adam Can I go now? Officer 1 Hell NO! Your not going anywhere but the chair. We have a positive ID now. You were in the line up. You should have known you would have been caught. Adam Not if I didn't do anything. Officer 1 slams his hands palm down on the table again, and storms back out of the room. As he is going out, the public attorney is going in. END OF SCENE 63 64. Int. Outside Interrogation Room, continious Officer 1 closes the door behind him, and slams his head back into it. Officer 3 stands walks up to him. Officer 3 You should go home. Me and my partner will let you know if anything happens, and he won't be getting out of here tonight. Officer 1 Yeah, your right. And I better call his wife when I get home. They were seperated, but I know she still cares for him. Officer 3 You go do that. I am sure she needs you to talk to her. Officer 1 starts to walk away towards the front. Officer 3 Do you want me to drive you. Will you be all right? Officer 1 I'll be fine. END OF SCENE 64 65. Ext. Outside Police Station, Minutes later The Dark One is in the foreground, getting into the car he had stolen. The camera zooms in to Officer 1 getting into his own car. Officer 1 drives his car out of the parking lot, and turns to go north. The Dark One pulls out to get in a few cars behind Officer 1 END OF SCENE 65 CUT TO 66. Ext. Thatcher Woods-Thatcher Rd. Half Hour later. Officer 1 pulls to a stop in front of a house along Thatcher Rd. The Dark One drives and continues to drive by. END OF SCENE 66 67. Ext. Madison St.-Forest Park Main Street, Sunset The camera in a long shot of Madison St. The camera starts to pan around to to the intersection of Des Plaines and Madison. The Dark One in the car he has stolen is at the red light. Close up the red light. It goes black. The car moves across the intersection. It drives to the police station and turns off onto the side street. He parks just beyond the entrance to the police station parking lot entrance. A shot through the rear view mirror of the Dark Ones eyes. His look of pure hatred as he seems to stare straight at the camera in a stare down with the viewer through the rear view mirror. END OF SCENE 67 68. Int. Police Station, little after 5:30 Officer 4 is hunched over the sign out book. Officer 3 is picking up the pen from Officer 4, as Officer 4 drops it on the book, and is getting ready to sign out. Officer 3 Shit, I forgot something. I'll see you tomorrow. Officer 4 Will you? Officer 3 What's that supposed to mean. Officer 4 I've put in a request. I don't feel safe with you covering my back. Officer 3 Okay, why the hell not? Is it because I am a woman? Officer 4 I'm not going to get in to it. Officer 4 leaves out the door. END OF SCENE 68 69. Ext. Outside the Police Station. minute later. Through the rearview mirror, Officer 4 comes walking out of the parking lot to his car that is parked right behind the Dark Ones car. Close up, Dark Ones hand as he turns the ignition. The Rearview mirror shot of Officer 4, as the car shoots back out of the parking space to Officer 4. Officer 4 drops out of sight as there is a thump sound. The car comes to a stop. A Shot of the sun setting. The Dark One hurries out of the Drivers side door, back to where Officer 4 is in the street, blood streaming through his head and chest. The Dark One grabs the Officer and drags him to the back door of the car, and opens the door. He pushes Officer 4 into the back, and slams the door. The Dark One gets back into the front seat of the car, and drives forward. The last rays of the setting sun. Traffic at the intersection of Des Plaines and Madison as the Night has come and rush hour is upon the streets. END OF SCENE 69 70. Ext. Outside Police Station. Nearing Six p.m Officer 3 is walking out of the police station, and hurries to his car. He gets in, and drives out of the parking lot. He pulls onto Des Plaines and drives north. The Dark One pulls out behind him, and follows him. END OF SCENE 70 Scene 71-80
