The Park

The river rushed with power The wind's breeze whistled The birds sang with love The kids played with youth... People walked and ran Some stopped to look Others continued on... But through all Their stood the music man Playing his fanciful music For all the park to hear. I watched with awe As the music man played His instruments of pleasure... But now the music man has faded away, But in his memory I still have my love for the park

Nightmare

Waking in darkness Shaking in fright Nightmares drifted Out of my mind Sweat ran As dreams can Light poured in As the door shouted In came dad to relieve Unforgotten fears But when he leaves The night comes back again

Hatred

I see a man colored in skin his heart the same cares for his kin I see a man, dressed in white his anger flaring raging with hates fire the fire that burns the cross I see a boy made fun of picked on and beat on I see a man, swaying hanging for a criminal skin beaten from hate death, unfate I see a man, laughing bragging his crimes guilt, nonexistant flames persistance... I see a boy, crying kneeling over an uncared for grave tears flowing hard as another hatred is formed...

The Full Moon

Moon so high in the sky Casting shadows To all those passing by Snow so white Glowing in the light Sky so deep blue Giving fears to you The wind whistled through the trees Branch's tapped at the bare windows An eerie echo of fears hidden The outline of the house Filled everyone with a tingling cold With the essance of the full moon Glowing bright behind it.

Prisoner of Youth

Walls of Prison holding me back Locks on doors taking away my freedom Parents as guards brothers as inmates Life goes by slow here in the hole of existence In here it is a pit society starts you here, unnoticed You have your worst years here in the prison of youth

Aids (Killing the Heart)

A war being fought throughout the nation Leading us all into damnation Without a weapon to kill And with each deathly breath he takes His mother prays for the Lord not to take "Please Lord of the Kingdom Let my son have his Freedom" He is fighting for his fair chance While remembering going alone to the school dance His heart still cracked and weak And throught Lord, death is what he must seek And with each choking grasp he takes His mother prays for teh Lord not to take "Please Lord of teh Kingdom Let my son have his Freedom" A straight line on the run And on his bed lays the gun His funeral in black and white Now he lies in the ground out of sight That his mother had prayed for the Lord not to take "Please Lord of the Kindom Tell me why did you take my son's Freedom?" A silver tear in the dirt As she remembers his favorite shirt With a bear roaring As his teeth of white were showing But the bera had whimpered in pain Letting no one have a gain "Please Lord of the Kingdom Why did you take my son's Freedom?"

Unbroken Glass (Park 6)

I look out in the distant breeze And see the Sunday myst As it comes across the river And moves through the trees The day has not yet awaken Campers still are unmoved Boats not wading in the water The river is unbroken The dam down the way Opens to excess Lets the overflow fade Fade away The locks open far down river As the water pulls from the shore Time to look for shells And hooks that were left here I start a fire in the pit, Keep warm in the chilly morning dawn, See the ducks break the glass As life goes on Soon the day will awaken, Boats will run wild, Skiers, fishers, swimmers, They will all be breaking In the unbroken glass

"My Cat"

I have a cat

Not the the cat in the hat

By Dr. Suess

But still a loveable cat.

And my cat, not the cat in the hat

Loves to have fun

And is never done

Jumping and Playing

From a tree he is swaying

And I laugh at my cat

Not the cat in the hat

But my cat.

"The Window"

Watching as people pass me, I see them look straight through my body Straight through my soul, They never see me I am a ghost in their mind, I don't exist, but yet I do, Invisible and lonely, Never appreciated Not really known I just watch, As the stare right through me. I am a window Nobody sees me...

God's Revelation

Drifting through the sand, I lay my head upon it, Feeling it's hot hardness Under the sun's constant rise The sun's heat lettin exhaustion, Take it's toll to the corridors of my mind As I begin to see the sky open With the drops of rain beating down The sun runs to hide, From being washed out, as the river of tears forms From God's crying onto the valley His tears come hard as I think, "What? What makes him cry?" And from the darkness above, An answer flows down among the tears "Violence, War, Killing" It says to me, As though I asked out loud but then I remembered my father knows all I began to realize what he means, But the voice of tears fades leaving me in the harsh rain until it too fades away to the sun. I look around at the heat Seeing no rivers; not a drop; but yet my clothes still drenched And my thirst quenched

"The Conversation"

"Do you believe in God?" Said the angel to the man As they sat alone; The sun on the rise Contemplation Behind the man's brown eyes Thinking of his life And the question 'Why' "Why not?" says the angel Blue eyes glowing In the darkness not yet light Know already the answer "Because here I am A bum, a traveler, A nomad from one boxcar to another Without any help. I am a loser on my own." "Yes, but you have life And you see life You respect it and have it fill your heart You love it." "But I have no life Like you say No friends or money Nothing to live for each day." "Stop your false words You enjoy it I know You're path you chose When You walked out the door." "But my past that you speak! Beatings and beatings! Where was God to help me? To make him stay away from me!" "For every good there is a bad And a God, a devil Your devil tempted you But you left, your soul intact God was there that night And watched you not take his life." "But why!? Why not help!?" "Man needs to be To live without a holding hand And you were too You walked tall So do you believe?" "I believe...maybe He could be." "Do you accept him, Love him?" "No, I can't love with all my heart When I may believe." "The damned be damned Fall now for died minutes ago I am St. Peter... No you must fall So be damned And let the Lord Be with thee..."

"Time...Pain"

Time unforgiving Uncaring My heart in pain Why eyes are red dry Time still goes away Not enough in a day So far, but yet so close A phone to ring, could call... Why not? Because I wish to see Because I wish to be.. But yet why??? Time so long Pulling at my chest All I want is a call And a dream of a chance I have a brother Does he still say that I have a sister Does she remember my name I have a father Do I? Time... While there is a lower class I am in it, while there is a criminal element I am of it; while there is a soul in prison, I am not free. -Eugene Debs

Life, Liberty, and Happiness

A wind of cold drifting A summer softness hardens the ground A snow covers the hardness of winter A sky strays grey through the day of morn People of sadness crown around Tombs of old surround his monument Black and White to morn the dead The nation aches with the passing The tomb of all tombs is made To cast away him, to throw away him The flag of allegiance is burning As Uncle Sam is passing He died by his people's hands Who took life from others Who took liberty from another Who took away happiness from each other Violence, death, suicide Taking away lives before their time Abortion killing a fetus Before it has a chance to experience life Artificail disease being created Wars to be protested and hated The flag of allegiance is burning As Uncle Sam is dying He died by his people's hands Who took life from others, Who took liberty from another Who took happiness from each other Liberty stopping at the gates of prison To leave them alone, inside of stone Crimes committed to be given unsuitable punishment In gates capturing prisoners of civil war Governments fighting unwanted wars away While losing the one at home The flag of allegiance is burning As Uncle Sam is dying He died by his people's hands Who took life from others Who took liberty from another Who took away happiness from each other A baby's cry heard in the city Crying from neglect by his single mother His days go by slowly without his mother His stomach goes by, empty into the night He does not laugh, nor does he play His happiness has been taken away The flag of allegiance is burning As Uncle Sam is dying He died by his people's hands Who took life from others Who took liberty from another Who took away happiness from each other When a government no longer works And it's center will not hold When a government no longer works For the people of the nation When a government no longer works Uncle Sam dies, and the edges fall apart The flag of allegiance is burning As Uncle Sam is...
