July 25, 1999

AAA from Toluca, Estado de Mexico, I think this show was taped on July 15, but I'm not sure. On a quick AAA note, it seems that Hector Garza has not been released from WCW yet, so he can't work on AAA, this was said in Box y Lucha magazine

*** Mini Abismo Negro and Mini Mosco de la Merced vs Parkita and Octagoncito.- Lumberjack match,

-- Usual stuff with the mini tecnicos throwing the mini Vipers out of the ring so they could be punished by the lumberjacks, who, this time, are the midges Dollarcito, Gulliver and Andre el Enano. Tirantes helps the ruditos to take over and they start beating Parkita and Octagoncito, as usual, Tirantes also ends on the floor and gets slapped a little, Parkita got upset at the midgets and took one of the belts and started beating them, but that was about it, at the end, the mini Vipers fouled Octagoncito and took the match, there were some good armdrags and flying headscissors, but no topes or planchas, so it was kind of a let down.

*** Mascara Sagrada jr (w/Randy) vs El Espectro jr(w/Apache).- For the National Middleweight Title.

1.- They open the match trading some holds, soon, Mascara Sagrada jr hits a side plancha from the top turnbuckle on Espectro jr, and Tirantes goes for the count... 1, 2... Tirantes acts as if he's having a heart attack or something and doesn't gets to the 3 count!! Espectro fouls Mascara jr and covers for the fast count. 2.- Espectro jr starts working on Mascara Sagrada's right arm, but the tecnico made the comeback with some quebradoras con giro and dropkicks, he uses 'la cerrajera' submission hold to get the fall.

3.- They go back and forth, exchanging some moves, Mascara jr dominates most of the time, but Apache starts taking a lot of action and giving Espectro some advantage, Billy Boy comes out, to attack Apache (I guess), but the 3 Diabolicos got him first, they fought a while, then the security staff took them out, the match re-started and Mascara delivered a tope suicida, but he couldn't defeat Espectro there, Tirantes helped the rudo with a fast count and Espectro took the title again.

*** The Spice Boys vs Los Diabolicos (Angel Mortal, Marabunta, Mr Condor and Apache).- I don't really know if Apache is part of the Diabolicos team, he doesn't use the same outfit, but anyway, he seems to be hanging around with those guys so I'll consider him one of them.

1.- Rudo beat-the-tecnicos-down. The Spice guys couldn't even take off their Village People costumes... 2.- More rudo punishing the good guys, they react and do some dives, but he camera work sucked and were not shown right. Billy Boy powerbombed Apache and got the pin. 3.- The rudos started stomping the tecnicos and then pushed Hijo del Tirantes, earning the DQ.

*** Abismo Negro (2?), Electro Shock and Cibernetico vs Latin Lover, Hijo del Perro Aguayo and Heavy Metal.- This can hardly be discribed as a match, they just showed the ending of either the second (assuming tecnicos won 2-0) or third fall, in it, Latin and Perro unlaced Abismo's and Ciber's masks, then, Latin put Abismo's mask on himself and attacked Cibernetico!!! In the confusion, the tecnicos won. Next, Pe¤a came out and Ciber fought with him and the security staff, he also attacked Abismo, they ended fighting as the show came to an end...

CMLL from Arena Mexico and Arena Coliseo.-

*** Villano III, Universo 2000 and Bestia Salvaje vs Lizmark, Atlantis and Ringo Mendoza.-

1.- The rudos go after Atlantis, soon, they're all over the tecnicos, it looks as if Universo is going to make Ringo submit to a crab, but Atlantis reacts and the tecnicos brawl back. Atlantis starts working on Villano's left knee (which has gone through surgery twice already). Ringo does 'la mezcale¤a' on Bestia, Universo goes for the save but Lizmark hits a side plancha from the ttb on him before that, then uses a short rana for the 3 count. Atlantis rips Villano's mask, the rudo had to go to the locker room for a new mask...

2.- Since Villano was at the locker room, the 2 rudos went against the 3 tecnicos without brawling, so the tecnicos started hitting their spots, Universo ended on the floor while fighting Ringo, so the beatle went for a tope suicida! He made contact with the top rope and nearly missed the spot!!! (Note-- Granddads: don't try that at home). Lizmark is a little wiser as he only goes for an over the top side plancha to nail Universo... Villano returns to the ring to trade some slaps with Atlantis, eventually low kicking him and then using brass knuckles to leave him cold in the center of the ring.

*** Infernales 99 vs Mr Aguila, Olimpico and Super Astro.-

1.- Rey Bucanero arrives to the ring using his mask, he soon seeks Olimpico to start the brawling, but the tecnicos swiftly take over the battle and unmask Bucanero for good, once Bucanero is not masked anymore, the Infernales once again control the beat down. The tecnicos have one of those 'reactions out of nowhere' and SuperAstro nailed Bucanero with a tope suicida, later, Mr Aguila delivers his over the top rope plancha with half tornillo on Ultimo Guerrero (anyone remember when that was the hot undercard feud?), Olimpico puts Satanico into a spinning Gory special to take the fall.

2.- Mr Aguila gets to work some armdrags and flying headscissors, but when SuperAstro enters to the ring, he is taken to "la esquina del dolor" and is beaten merciless, Mr Aguila gets more of that and the rudos take the fall. 3.- Things don't change that much at first, then, don't change at all and the rudos take the match.

*** Cien Caras, Mascara A¤o 2000 and Apolo Dantes vs Brazo de Plata, Tinieblas jr and Tarzan Boy.- Before the match they had a video segment with Apolo taking a guy using a black hood to talk with 'el hombre de negro'. They ofered him a spot in el sindicato. My guess is that he's Shocker, later, Alfonso Morales said that they were interesed on Shocker, so I guess the mystery ends there.

1.- For a change, the tecnicos are the ones jumping on their foes this time, next, the rudos gain control of the brawl, things settle a little as each tecnico work his spots, more brawling, Apolo-Porky fued, Tarzan uses a huracanrana on Mascara A¤o 2000, then Tinieblas makes Cien Caras submit. 2.- In about 2 seconds, the rudos stablish the usual Dinamitas offensive, that last for a long time, untill they get DQ for beating Tinieblitas too much.

*** Rey Bucanero, Pierroth jr (de Puerto Rico) and Ricky Santana vs Mr Niebla, Hijo del Santo and Negro Casas.- Well, it was not Rey Bucanero, but Shocker using Bucanero's mask, which he had won at the Ruleta de la Muerte II, this is the time to complain about that: why the heck that happened??? CMLL just ruined the Olimpico vs Bucanero angle, that angle still had the problem that we all knew Olimpico would take the mask, now, a mask vs hair match looks uninteresting. At least, CMLL should had one tecnico getting the mask, but Shocker???

1.- Again, the tecnicos start the attack, they beat the rudos a while, then Negro hits la Casita on Ricky, Pierroth goes for the save but is decked by a diving tope from Santito, then la de a caballo and the fall is over. 2.- Since Negro and Santito had used their finishers already, we should expect Mr Niebla from Naucalpan jumping into the battle to end the match 2-0.

August 1, 1999

AAA from Torreon Coahuila (Taped July 17-- See house shows reports)

*** Miss Janeth, Poli Star and Xochitl Hamada vs Alda Moreno, Yuki Miyazaki and Cinthia Moreno.- One fall match, there was nothing really outstanding on this match, they just traded some moves and after a few minutes, Poli and Hamada missed cornerspears, going out of the ring, so the Moreno sisters could hit somersaults planchas from the Apron, Yuki did a back body drop on Janeth, who went over the top rope to the floor, they Yuki did a step over the top rope side plancha, they brawled down there and got counted out. After a while, Jerry Estrada, Hijo del Espectro and Sanguinario came out to attack las tecnicas, then Mascara Sagrada jr, The Panther and Parka jr also came out and a huge brawling with everyone started.

*** Heavy Metal, Latin Lover, Hijo del Perro and Alebrije (/w Cuije) vs Sangre Chicana, Mocho Cota, Texano and Cobarde jr.- Nothing really happened there, they cut the match to about 8 or 9 minutes, so they only showed the ending of each fo the 3 falls, and the couples of dives there were (Heavy Metal nailed Cobarde with an over the top rope somersault dive, while Perrito nearly killed Mocho Cota with a split legged senton 'silla zacatecana'), the ending had Sangre and Texano beating Cuije and throwing him over the top to the floor to get the DQ.

*** Felino and Octagon vs Kick Boxer and Jaque Mate.- Cage match. The rudos start controlling the match, a couple of slams and suplexes, but mostly kicks and slaps, soon, they go for their foe's masks, after a short time, the tecnicos rally back, Octagon fouls Jaque and leaves the ring while Felino goes to the ttb to deliver a senton on Kick Boxer, Jaue also escapes the cage (but they cut out how much trouble it took for him to negotiate the top of the cage), and he and Octagon brawl some more. Kick Boxer gets the upper hand fighting Felino, Mocho and Heavy come out, Heavy helps his brother but Kick Boxer gets out of the cage and takes the match, they kept fighting as the show is over.

CMLL from Arena Coliseo and Arena Mexico.-

*** Blue Panther, Villano III and Kurgan vs Atlantis, Emilio Charles and Tarzan Boy.- I don't know exactly how this match was, but they only showed the ending of it, well, a little more than the ending: the three rudos went after Atlantis (he and Blue Panther have been feuding for about a decade or something like that), Charles gets more of that, tecnicos rally back, Charles and Atlantis start clotheslining and drokickng Kurgan, who goes to the floor with double clothesline, Tarzan Boy hits a tope suicida, Atlantis kicks Panther out of the ring and Emilio gives him a silla zacatecana, so Villano and Atlantis are left to resolve the match, incredibly, Villano gets the clear pin after a powerbomb (I think they're too far away from the ropes for Villano to cheat).

*** Pierroth de Puerto Rico, Fuerza Guerrera, Ricky Santana and Gran Markus jr vs Cien Caras, Mascara A¤o 2000, Universo 2000 and Apolo Dantes.- A logn brawl with nothing good on it, no dives or dangerous spost, Pierroth juiced and fought Apolo, forgetting about Chucho Reyes, the ending had Pierroth fouling Dantes and getting the DQ, the 'Puerto Ricans' took over the brawling there untill Kurrgan came out... So I guess Pierroth will bring another 'Giant'.

*** Shocker vs Mr Niebla.- Mano a Mano:

1.- They lock horns before the bell rings, they exchange some slaps and then the tecnico dropkicks Shocker out of the ring to deliver a tope suicida!!! They made it to the ring, they edit something out and Shocker is now on command, he goes after Mr Niebla's mask and takes him to the cornerpost, where he slams his head against the post, Mr Niebla starts bleeding, they fight on and out of the ring for a while, Shocker refuses to make the pin and Mr Niebla reacts with a bulldog and a suplex, then takes the fall with a double armbar submission hold.

2.- Mr Niebla keeps on control, he's still quite bloody, but has now Shocker close to losing his mask, they go back and forth untill Mr Niebla puts Shocker into a side torture rack (which was Shocker's finisher earlier on the year, while he feuded Black Warrior), but the fakeNiebla enters the ring so the referee got distracted, Mr Niebla thought he had won and lets go, but Shocker low blows him and pins him with a cradle, but Nibla kicks out at 2.9, they keep fighting untill Mr Niebla IWRG enters to attack CMLL Niebla and the match ends on a DQ (I'm not that surprised). They both sign for the masks match, but they didn't said when would that be done.
