AAA from Estado de Mexico (2) and San Luis Potosi (2).-
*** Peso and some guy vs Gulliver and Andre.- I'm not sure about Andre, and I don't remember the name of Peso's partner, he was using the same gimmick, so he might be 'Centavo' or Peso II or something... They're all midgets, Gulliver being smaller than Peso!! I wasn't paying too much attention to the first couple of matches since I thougth I was getting them on tape, but they're not. The match was acceptable, it seems that Peso really knows some wrestling but he couldn't do it against bigger guys, here he worked a lot better and his team was the tecnicos, while the other two guys went into rudos, I think they're supposed to be a four men team, but didn't quite came off that way. Peso's team won.
*** Los Space Boys vs Los Diabolicos and Apache.- I couldn't see if they're introduced as Spice now... who knows... anyway, I think this was their second try at AAA, this time against full time rudos, and the rudos didn't go easy on them, the tecnicos more or less showed the same stuff they did on AAAmania, but in the third fall, the Diabolicos and Apache went into a big brawling and Billy Boy was left a bloody mess, eventually, they all started kicking him so the tecnicos won by exceso de Rudezas.
*** Los Vatos Locos vs Tigre Silva, Gladiador Gutierrez, Kick Boxer and Box Thai.- The kickboxers were supposed to fight los Vipers at first, but they ended feuding Los Juniors Atomicos, now they go to face Los Vatos Locos. The match had as much brawling as you might guess, although the 'boxers don't really understand or know how to do it well, for instance, Silva simply didn't sell some of Manson's chairshots... The thing of note here is that Los Vatos were huge with the crowd, lots of "Vatos" or "Manson" chants. The ending had Manson being disqualified for an alleged foul which apparently, never existed, or maybe it was really a foul, it came after Silva started using crossarmbreakers on him, the same move that 'injured' Parka jr and Perrito so maybe Manson got upset about that move.
*** Felino, Heavy Metal, Path Finder and Octagon vs Pentgaon, Electro Shock, Abismo Negro and Jake Mate.- 'Jaque' is the way you should spell it and was ever used before (it means Check Mate -I think-, you know, from Chess), but the titles said it Jake Mate, so I guess maybe Peņa got that spelling bit to own the character, or maybe I'm trying to see more into a simple mistake.
1.- The now bald Tirantes was one of the referees, he got into some arguements with the tecnicos, and after a while left for the lockeroom, becasuse 'he's been too humilliated', after a while 'el Hijo del Tirantes' came out, by then, the rudos were in full control of the match with a lot of brawling and beating. They gang up on Heavy Metal, then on Felino, Abismo Negro ties Octagon to the top rope, Felino submits to a four figure leglock from Jake Mate, Abismo hits a frankensteiner on Path Finder, the fall goes to the rudos.
2.- More brawling, then, the tecnicos more or less balance the action and even start dominating a while, but nothing worth mention happens there, Tirantes returns to the ringside with Thai and Kick Boxer, he gets into a fight with Tropicasas so Felino and Heavy get to fight with the boxers, the other two boxers also get there, so everyone beats the Casas kids, the 8 rudos get into that, they spare Octagon and Finder a little... the crowd starts chanting for Los Vatos Locos, the beat up last for a long and at last Los Vatos made the save!!! They brawl with the boxers and then with the rudos, mainly with los Vipers, but they also fought Jake and Penta... in the confusion, Abismo and Electro Shock went back to the ring and took the match by count out... ???!!!
CMLL from Arena Coliseo (1) and Arena Mexico.-
*** Zumbido, Scorpio jr, Mascara Aņo 2000 and Gran Markus jr vs Tinieblas jr, Emilio Charles jr and the Head Hunters.- An 8 men tag match? That is very unusual for CMLL to do...
1.- Rudo brawling, they keep beating the tecnicos for a while, Mascara 2000 goes after Emilio Charles and forces him to bleed quite a lot, Charles couldn't even take off his jacket... Markus and Scorpio jr whipped one of the Hunters to the ropes and then went to clothesline him out of the ring, but the top rop couldn't take it and was broken!! The Hunter went down hard and had to be stretched out, the rudos took the fall.
2.- The rudos went on punishing the tecnicos while some guys fixed the top rope thing, soon, the tecnicos rallied back, Perro started no selling Chucho's clotheslines... Perro? I mean, Emilio, anyway, Mascara 2000 ended on the floor to be nailed by the bloody tope suicida... The healthy Head Hunter whips Scorpio jr to the rudo corner, Zumbido hits him with missile kicks, but then Tinieblitas falls on both rudos with a side plancha, Markus hits a plancha on both rudos then the Hunter with another fat plancha to get the pin.3.- Rudos start outnumbering their foes, who after a while don't care and take control of the match, it looks as if the tecnicos will win the match, but Mascara Aņo 2000 fouls Charles and covers for the 3 count. They were interviewed after that and set a mano a mano match for the next week... Let me guess, Charles will win with a blind foul on the third.
*** Ultimo Guerrero, Rey Bucanero and Satanico vs Olimpico, Tarzan Boy and Zorro.-
1.- Bucanero punches Olimpico out of the apron to the floor, so the brawling starts there, the Nuevos Infernales (or Infernales 99) are starting to look a little better with some teamwork, they beat all of the tecnicos for a while, Rey Bucanero tears down Olimpico's mask, then they put Tarzan Boy into 'la carreta', credited to los Hermanos Espanto, you know, this is the time when the tecnicos start the reaction, so... Tarzan Boy submits! What!?!? I can't believe it! They go after Olimpico and Zorro, the later gets pinned.
2.- The Infernales 99 keep punishing Olimpico and Zorro, Rey Bucanero beats Olimpico all over the place, but the tecnico reacts by reversing a whip and hitting an elbowsmash, he goes after Bucanero's mask... tecnicos rally back, they brawl a little and then take the fall pinning Ultimo Guerrero and Satanico. 3.- Olimpico got a couple of near falls on Bucanero but couldn't put him out, Ultimo Guerrero started controlling Zorro with some whips and elbowsmashes but then went to the floor after missing one, leaving him open to be decked by Zorro with an over the top rope somersault plancha!! Next, Bucanero went out of the ring as well, so Tarzan Boy could hit his over the top pescado with tornillo!!! If you don't know that it is time for Satanico to fake a foul, then you have not been paying attention lately...
*** Black Warrior, Fuerza Guerrera and Bestia Salvaje vs Negro Casas, Shocker and Mr Niebla.- First time Lizmark gets into the mat (on TVat least) since his health problems, he doesn't look to be in the best of shape, but that is normal considering the time he's been off.
1.- The rudos team up on Lizmark and Mr Niebla as soon as they can, Shocker is too busy taking care of looking good or something. Not so long brawling, Black Warrior hits a frankensteiner on Mr Niebla, Shocker said he had some troubles with his shoulder so Fuerza tries to help him get better... Bestia hits a somersault senton on Lizmark to get the pin, Fuerza delivers the punt on Niebla and the tecnico submits to the rudos...
2.- Fuerza Guerrera tries to convince Shocker to go to the rudo corner, but Shocker doesn't look to be ready to do so, Black Warrior whips Lizmark to a corner but then misses the cornersplash, Lizmark hits quebradora con giro and gets a 2 count, Warrior tries his top rope springboard hurr... whatever that it is that always gets countered into a powerbomb so Lizmark puts Warrior away by pin. Fuerza reverses Lizmark's hurracanrana into a powerbomb and gets the 3 count! Mr Niebla gets a couple of close falls on Fuerza Guerrera, and then sent him out of the ring, Mr Niebla goes to tag Shocker in, who, of course, refuses to do so... Mr Niebla goes on to fight Bestia Salvaje, he manages to get into position to do his finisher but Shocker enters, punches him, and Bestia takes the match by pin.
The rudos leave the ring and Mr Niebla goes after Shocker, he even attacks his former friend, Dr Morales gets to interview them and suddenly, Los Oficiales, Cyber Cop, Maniac Cop and Mister Niebla IWRG come out and get to the ring side!!!!! Morales ask the IWRG Niebla who he is and how many Mister Nieblas are there... IWRG Niebla responds that he's from 'Grupo Intrnacional Revolucion', and that the CMLL guy is an imposter, they both trade words about who's the fake and who's the real one.
*** Villano III, Pierroth de Puerto Rico and Apolo Dantes vs Atlantis, Brazo de Plata and Negro Casas.- They say that Pierroth jr wants to be called from now on 'Pierroth de Puerto Rico' and that he has quit to his Mexican nationality and is now from Puerto Rico. They ran an angle before the match, Pierroth was in an office and offered Apolo Dantes and Villano III to work in the Puerto Rican promotion, Villano accepted right away, saying he knew about that promo (which is true), but Apolo said he would think it over, he and Pierroth argued a while and Pierroth said that 'el Sindicato' was crap (well, something like that).
1.- Atlantis runs to the ring to attack Villano III, unfortuately, the plan doesn't come off very well and soon the rudo brawling is general, with all of the tecnicos getting a beating, mainly Atlantis, who got his mask ripped open and was bleeding quite a bit (not as much as the previous week), rudos take the fall by total blowout.
2.- Rudo brawling, then the tecnicos came back with some weak offense and then brawled, Atlantis beating Villano III and Negro going over Pierroth, in the ring, Apolo received a fat plancha from the second turnbuckle from Super Porky to get the fall count even. 3.- Some more tecnico brawling, then things cooled down a while, it is hard to tell if Villano was also juicing now or it was Atlantis own blood. They traded some slaps and then Villano went to the floor, so Atlantis nailed him with a tope suicida... I hope Pierroth is doing well in Puerto Rico, since he simply didn't sell anything from Negro and I don't think the booker will be too happy about that... Porky had to gut shot Pierroth out of the ring, so Apolo and Brazo de Plata went at it, some not so funny comedy stuff, at last, Porky misses a top turnbuckle fat plancha, so Apolo puts him into a headlock submission hold and forces Brazo de Plata to submit, winning the match.
-- Will the Vatos Locos Turn Tecnicos??? I don't think so, it looked as if they were making the save for the tecnicos, but I guess it was more a mistake from the bookers than a tecnico turn. They should have had los Payasos or Space Boys ready to make the save, but maybe they're not around, so when the crowd started chanting 'Vatos', Peņa sent them there... it is obvious that they were not ready to be in action, Manson and Picudo were on street clothes, and if the save had been programed, they should have been using their full Vatos costumes.
-- What's the deal with Hijo del Tirantes? All of the sudden, he's been all over AAA, my guess is that Tropicasas will be retiring from the referee's duties soon, maybe taking a full job as Heavy and Felino's manager or something, or maybe retiring from the ring althogether, so AAA needs to find a replacement, maybe tombstoning Fresero was an early attempt to find Tropicasas' replacement, and now they're trying to use Hijo del Tirantes...
-- The thing with Pierroth is weird, but may be the same stuff CMLL did last year with the Mexico vs Puerto Rico thing that, imo, was pretty bad. After some weeks of pushing the Villano III vs Atlantis feud, it might end with no solution, in the angle, Pierroth told Villano that the thing in Puerto Rico was very good and that he should forget about Atlantis, Villano said 'OK'. So the feud is ovver??? My guess is that Pierroth will form another team with guys from Mexico and Puerto Rico to feud 'los Capos'. Or maybe the team will be away in Puerto Rico.
-- The stuff with IWRG is one of those things that makes me go to the phone and call someone just to go 'did you see that? I can't believe they did that!!!'. I think that CMLL and IWRG are working together and might be on their way to get rid of the fake Mr Niebla, but you never know until it really happens, sometimes you take something for granted, then Paco Alonso gets upset and sends everything to the trash can. You know they're working together when you see that Shocker joins the IWRG guys and all of them go away through the locker rooms (well, they didn't show that they entered the locker rooms, but they're there tauting the crowd). The problem I see with this (possible) angle is that it doesn't look as if CMLL can really assemble a team of tecnicos big enought to oppose 'el escuadron de la muerte'.
