Some comments before the recap:

--I was away in Dallas for some days, so I missed the last couple of weeks recaps. They can be found here. But they're rushed, I had done them this past Saturday (May 15), but unwillingly deleted them by mistake, they were not finished, but only the additional comments and opinions were missing, so I don't feel like watching the tape again and did the recaps from memory, The first week shows lasted for 45 minutes each AAA and CMLL, with the matches themselves being heavily edited, the following week they lasted 1 hr each, but again, the edition was murderous and they were not very enjoyable. This week they're much better.

-- Due to circumstances beyond my control, I've missed the past IWRG recaps, some weeks ago, the Mexican Goverment satellite went off line, affecting the PCTV company, which airs ESPN2 Mexico. The problem happened on a Wednesday and returned on the next Saturday, so many channels went off. The local cable company switched its programming and ESPN2 returned this past week, but I couldn't get to tape it. It started way to early compared to previous shows, and I could only watch the main event, which had Mexico vs Japan: Kato Kung Lee sr, Micke Segura, Ultimo Vampiro, Super Parka, Star Boy and Mega taking on Shiima Nobunaga, Taru, Makoto, Mochizuki, Judo Suwa and Sumo Fuji in a 'Prision de la Muerte' match. It was a cage match in which they could not escape from it untill 10 minutes had passed, it had mostly brawling, with Shiima and Micke defining the match, which was won by Segura, however, there was no hair or mask on the line, Segura asked for a title shot at Shiimas middle weight intercontinental title, so I guess it will be on the next show with Sasuke and the ARSION girls, I think there should be no problem to get that show.

--The bad news: Super Luchas was cancelled, it seems that the editorial was purchased by a bigger corp and the new owners have no interest on keeping the mag. I picked up a Box y Lucha mag, it still has too much boxing (btw, Laguna's native Cesar 'Cobrita' Soto won the CMB featherweight world title, so congratulations to him!) and only covers a AAA show and CMLL. Morales now writes a column, in the one I read, he said that Felino had a lot of opportunities to shine in EMLL, for instance, beating 5 guys in a row to take the Cibernetico tournament; but that he had never quite 'made it'.

-- Speaking of Felino, CMLL owns the the rights of the character, and apparently Paco Alonso said they migth follow legal action, would they?? Could they come with a CMLL Felino?? I don't think they will, doing so might force AAA to quickly stage a feud for him to drop the mask, that feud could be very hot, of course, AAA migth want Felino to drop the hood anyway, but Felino might want to keep it, after all, it wouldn't be too weird that Felino eventually returns to CMLL. At the beginning of the AAA Televisa show from May 16, the used a video clip with Felinu using his old ugly mask, then his newer mask, and finally a brand new outfit!! Zuņiga said that it was a new stage and character, so would he get a new name? Heavy Metal also showed up with the same costume, but withoug mask.

-- Atlantis took Dr Wagner jr's Light Heavyweight CMLL title in Puebla, this has to be a joke! Older guys who don't need the title get them (the other being Ringo Mendoza, OK, I'll give you that Atlantis is not nearly as old and Ringo, but he's light years away of the top tecnico status they want to give him), while the promising talent is sent to the low card. I wonder if Atlaintis treathened with going to AAA...

-- Dr Wagner Sr has left the wheelchair behind after years of rehabilitation and operations, while I was away, some friends ran into him at one indy show. Box y Lucha said that Espanto jr, former Santo Negro and Pentagon, might be returning to the ring under his Espanto jr name, they don't say if he's heading to AAA or CMLL or anything, but my guess is that if he is in good shape, he'll feud Hijo del Santo.

AAA From Leon Guananajuato and Queretaro, Queretaro.

*** Vatos Locos vs Felino, Parka jr, Mascara Sagrada jr and Latin Lover.- Felino is using his old CMLL outfit. I think this is the main event from Leon Guanajuato.

1.- 'Madrugete' from los Vatos Locos and the beating last for some minutes until Tropicasas disqualified the rudo team. 2.- More tecnico bashing from los Vatos untill Latin Lover stages the comeback with a quebradora con giro on Nygma and a superkick on MayFlowers, tecnico brawling, more quebradora con giros, Felino uses a chair on Manson, things cool down somewhat, both teams return to their corners. Parka jr assist Mascara jr to do a flying headlock+headscissors on Picudo and MayFlowers, double armdrags, again, double dropkicks, rudos go out of the ring, so the tecnicos deliver double over the top rope somersault planchas. Nygma slaps Felino into a corner and places him on the ttb, Latin kicks Nygma, Manson helps Nygma holding Latin Lover but Nygma connects a kick on his friend, Latin puts Nygma on Felino to do his splash mountain and get the pin, Manson, the captain, is also pinned after being powerbombed by Latin Lover.

*** Cuerno de Chivo, Nemesis and R-15 vs Oscar Sevilla, Niņo de la Calle and Aracnofobia.- Nemesis and Aracnofobia are the youngsters rookies from San Luis or some place like that, they showed them a while ago, I've seen better guys at AAA low cards, but it is nice to see new guys here...

1.- The rudos start the brawl before the tecnicos can get to the ring, lots of brawling with some moves and dives here and there, Cuerno and R-15 used chair shots on Sevilla, who juiced, they also powerbombed him on two chairs, the tecnicos rallied back after Nemesis kicked R-15 by mistake, Niņo hits R-15 with a not too good tope suicida, then Aracnofobia nails Nemesis with a slightly better tope, Sevilla and Cuerno are left in the ring, Cuerno de Chivo kicks Sevillo a couple of times and then goes to the mat claiming Oscar Sevilla had fouled him!!! Tirantes 'bought it' and the tecnicos lost the first fall.

2.- Aracnofobia works his stuff on Nemesis with some armdrags and scissors, but they don't come off that well, R-15 vs Sevilla, Sevilla dominates with spinning flying headscissors, and making R-15 dellyslide out of the ring, next, Niņo and Cuerno, Niņo reverses a powerbomb into an armdrag, then hits spinning flying headscissors, Cuerno goes out of the ring missing a cornerspear, and Niņo chases him out to the crowd. Rudos recompose as they double team on Aracnofobia, then, they pull the triple headlock smash at the center of the ring, with everyone being 'knocked out' and reacting at the 2 count, next, the tecnicos put the starfish hold, to no avail, some fighting, Nemesis ends on the floor, Aracnofobia decks him with a second rope moonsault, Niņo whips Cuerno de Chivo to the ropes, Cuerno hits a tope suicida on Aracnofobia, Niņo decks them both with a ttb side plancha, Sevilla and R-15 are left on the ring, they start running around and then the rudo fakes being fouled, he gets nothing from the referees, Niņo returns to the ring and DOES foul R-15, Chivo, fouls Niņo, and then fakes being fouled, this time, Tirantes DQd the tecnicos, so the match goes 2-0 to the rudos.

I don't know if Cuerno de Chivo and Oscar Sevilla might meet at a Mask vs hair match at AAAmania, it seems that AAAmania might be packed with stipulations matches. This match re-introduced Sevilla and Niņo, who were gone for some weeks.

***Miss Janeth, Xochitl Hamada and Vicky Carranza (las Brujas) vs La Fujitiva, La Practicante and Migala (las Maniacas).- AAA has turned its ladies division to be just like the men's: feuding stables! Las Maniacas should be the lower team once Sujei returns to activity and teams up with Linda Star and Zahory.

-- Average match, Las Brujas tried to take the role of the tecnicas, and missed some moves, did correctly others, mostly a big brawl with steady action, after some minutes, Pentagon and Abismo Negro come out, Petagon has a sign that reads 'Xochitl, perdoname, te amo' and Abismo has a birthday cake, it seems that that day was Hamada's birthday, Hamada throws the cake to Pentagon and the Maniacas start beating Pentagon, they go out of the ring and are counted out!!! What is this WWF?

*** Heavy Metal w/Felino vs Kick Boxer w/Thai Boxer, bullterrier match.- When is AAA going to team Felino with Heavy Metal?? I'm starting to see them feuding with Kick and Thai Boxer, would they go to a hair/hair/mask vs hair/hair/mask with Tirantes and Tropicasas involved at AAAmania?

-- I guess this was one of the better dog collar matches I've seen from AAA, in the sense that at least, they did some moves, rather than only kicks and punches, Thai Boxer helped Kick Boxer a lot, with Felino not really getting into the action untill Thai went to the apron to kick Heavy, Felino went there to kick the other second, but then was kicked on the neck by Kick Boxer after Heavy ducked, the stretcher came for Felino but he returned to the ring to attack Kick Boxer, so the referee, who is a kick boxing referee, disqualified Heavy.

CMLL from Arena Coliseo.-

*** Dr Wagner jr, Villano III and Gran Markus jr vs Emilio Charles jr and the Head Hunters.- Farewell match for Wagner who is leaving for the top of the super Juniors tournament at New Japan.

1.- Villano with a DDT on Charles, that looked pretty bad since Charles doesn't know how to sell a ddt, Charles recovers with qubradora con giro, everyone enters the ring, the Head Hunters connect guillotine leg drops on Wagner and Markus, to get the pins, meanwhile, Charles chases Villano, who goes out to seek Ray Mendoza!! Ray is the Box y Lucha comission representative, and I think he was at the ringside...

2.- The 'tecnicos' brawl before the second fall starts, so the rudos tease a walk out... Wagner and one of the Hunters trade some blows and corner splashes, the Hunter hits a ttb vertical splash and goes for the pin, but Markus made the save. Villano and Charles work again, ending in a Charles tope suicida on the pink panther, Markus and Wagner back body drop one of the hunters and then made them crash into each other, one of them goes out of the ring, his bro follows double clotheslined by Wagner and Markus, Charles re-enters the ring to face both rudos, Emilio flings Markus towards Dr Wagner jr, who is sent out of the ring, Charles back body drops Gran Markus, then dropkicks and Markus leaves the ring, Villano returns to the ring, they trade some pin attempts, then Villano gets three chances to pin Charles but refuses to do so, so is DQd.

*** Black Warrior, Fuerza Guerrera, Ultimo Guerrero, Rey Buccanero, Violencia vs Olimpico, Tony Rivera, Zorro, Tarzan Boy and Pantera.- Cibernetico match to produce a challenger for Great Sasuke's NWA middleweight title(that's what they said), my guess is that Fuerza Guerrera was subbing for someone...

-- Black Warrior and Olimpico open the match with some primera caida stuff, Ultimo Guerrero and Tony Rivera continue the trend, followed by Violencia and Zorro, Rey Bucanero and Pantera pick the pace up, as the tecnico used an armdrag and flying headscissors to send the rudo to the floor and tease a tope suicida. Tarzan Boy and Fuerza Guerrera trade some moves and slaps... soon, Fuerza goes to the corner to tag Black Warrior in!! The rudos don't look to happy with Fuerza Guerrera...

Black Warrior with a couple of slaps on Tarzan Boy, a clothesline, and a powerbomb for a 2 count, Ultimo Guerrero faces Olimpico, the tecnico soon hits a spinning flying headscissors and a spinning armdrag to left the rudo dizzy and tagging out, Violencia enters the action but is manhandled by Tony Rivera, Bucanero gets a near fall on Zorro after a powerbomb, Fuerza works on Zorro and delivers a half powerbomb with the 'fuerza punt', Morales and Yaņes claimed it was a foul, but the referees didn't see it. Pantera goes after Fuerza, then Rivera punishes the rudo, next it's Zorro's turn to beat Fuerza, who is barely able to tag Violencia in...

Violencia and Zorro trade some pin attempts, then, Violencia does a powerslam on Zorro and goes to the ttb to perform a moonsault twisted into a somersault senton, but Zorro rolls out of the way, then nails the rudo with missile kicks, to put him out with the texas coverleaf. It looked as if Zorro went to tag Olimpico in but stayed in the ring, Black Warrior whipped him to a corner and then hit a cornersplash, half powerbomb, bodyslam, Warrior goes to the ttb, diving elbow smash, 1,2,3, Zorro is out, but it seems Black Warrior injured himself there. Olimpico and Bucanero are next, since they're feuding, they leave the ring trading punches. Rivera works a little with Ultimo Guerrero and then with Fuerza Guerrera, who gets the pin after Tony Rivera misses missile kicks.

Tarzan Boy and Fuerza Guerrera go back and forth, with Tarzan using a 'segadora' on Fuerza who went out of the ring, Tarzan Boy delivered his corckscrew side plancha, but he nearly missed Guerrera, who could only get his arms to cushion the tecnico's fall. They take some time to return to the ring, Tarzan Boy goes to the apron, Fuerza Guerrera charges, but TBoy slaps him away, and then hits a top rope springboard flying clothesline to deck Fuerza and get the 3 count. Ultimo Guerrero enters, chaos errupts with Ultimo Guerrero sending Boy to the floor and giving him a tope suicida, shortly after that, Pantera runs on the apron, jumps over the ttb and nais Rey Bucanero with a tope suicida!! Ultimo Guerrero makes Pantera go into the ring, and uses one of his judo throws to get the pin on him.

Olimpico and Rey Bucanero go at it, Olimpico tried some pins, but Bucanero managed to escape, then, Olimpico used his legs to send Rey Bucanero over the third tope to the floor, only to follow with his top rope springboard plancha! Olimpico made it back and Ultimo faced him, Ultimo Guerrero blocked Olimpico's offense, but then went out of the ring after taking his trademark 'knee cornersplash miss', Olimpico went for a second turnbuckle springboard tope to the floor, but came short and landed mostly on the floor!! Rey Bucanero takes Olimpico to the mat and the tecnico is easy prey for the rudo. I guess Black Warrior and Tarzan Boy forefeited the match or something as they tought the match was over, but the referees told them that there can only be one... both rudos trade some slaps, then hit simultaneous clotheslines, so both are out for a while, Rey Bucanero rolls out of the ring, Ultimo Guerrero recovers his breath and decks Bucanero with a tope suicida, Ultimo Guerrero climbs to the apron and goes for a split legged senton, but Bucanero counters into a powerbomb, now it is Bucanero who goes up to the ring and delivers an over the top rope diving senton! Back in the ring, Rey Bucanero does an inverted MDII to get a 2 count. Bucanero goes to the ttb but Ultimo Guerrero gets him first and makes him fall on it, Ultimo goes for his reverse corner superflex, but Bucanero is not able to flip and fall on his chest/belly, so goes down DIRECTLY INTO HIS HEAD!!! More like a vicious superDDT than Ultimo Guerrero's regular finisher, needless to say, Ultimo takes the match and goes to face Great Sasuke next week.

Somewhat, a surprise, I couldn't see Black Warrior winning, since he's NWA light heavyweight champ, Olimpico is CMLL middleweight title holder, Fuerza Guerrera is not getting a push, Violencia or Pantera? Nah! Zorro and Tarzan Boy have been in CMLL for a couple of weeks, and since Ultimo Guerrero has won a Cibernetico and the young lions tournament, my pick was Rey Bucanero, of course, I don't expect Great Sasuke dropping the belt, unless he wants to take a dozen of guys to the orient to the Michinoku Pro.

*** Satanico, Cien Caras and Mascara Aņo 2000 vs Shocker, Brazo de Oro and Brazo de Plata.- Gimme a break! Exackly the same happens as in the previous shows, but since Zumbido and Ultimo Guerrero are not around, and Shocker is not cooperating here, that's all I have to say about this match: Rudos 2-0.

*** Zumbido, Apolo Dantes and Scorpio jr vs The Great Sasuke, Negro Casas and Atlantis.-

1.- Before Sasuke can say 'konichihua', the rudos jump on the tecnicos, its beatdown time, after some minutes, the rudos stop the brawling. Negro hits a series of shoulderblocks on Scorpio jr who won't sell anything, but ends being dropkicked out of the ring, Negro follows with an over the top rope somersault plancha, Sasuke dropkicks Apolo as well, and then goes for an over the top flip plancha!! Atlantis misses his 'Atlantida' on Zumbido, but drops him and gets the pin. 2.- Zumbido and Sasuke do some acrobatic stuff, Atlantis vs Apolo: nothing to write home about, same for Negro vs Scorpio. The rudos start triple teaming on Sasuke, Atlantis reacts with some brawling, more Negro vs Scorpio. Next, Great Sasuke and Zumbido start jumping around the ring again, Zumbido goes for his ttb moonsault, Great Sasuke rolls out but Zumbido lands on his feet, anyway, Sasuke hits an inside the rign quebrada and uses a german suplex to pin Zumbidosky. Atlantis clotheslined Apolo out of the ring, then decked him with a plancha from the ttb, Negro almost got to do 'la casita' on Scorpio to get the match, but Zumbido reentered the ring and attacked Negro Casas, earning the DQ. A brawl followed with Negro asking for a hair match vs Scorpio.
