Specific and Measurable Objectives
Students will show they are aware of various creation myths by reading and taking an objective quiz on four core creation myths representing various cultures.
- Students will use a comparison/ contrast graphic organizer in reviewing at least two creation myths from various cultures. The myths should be taken from various web links embedded with the curriculum.
- Students will create their own creation myths using the writing process of; Prewriting/ Brainstorming, Writing, Editing and Publishing using the World Wide Web as their vehicle for publication.
- Students will find a creation myth from the web links embedded within the curriculum and recreate the myth using paraphrasing techniques in a presentation with at least:
appropriate background music
Visual representation of the myth/ or a prop used while telling the myth
Use of some type of costume prop: hat, cape, toga, etc… [see teacher if there are any questions]
a practiced recitation of their version of the myth.[Minimum length should be no shorter that 2 minutes and no longer than 4 minutes]
- Students will know basic terminology as it applies to general mythology and apply this terminology to an objective test.
Students will explain a contemporary myth and show how it might be used to either teach or explain a natural or unnatural phenomenon in a short essay to be created and sent via e-mail.
