I have so many gripes this month. Let's talk about Georgie fucking pudding pie, and his fucking agenda of slime. Here he is declaring war on Iraq. Well I say us as Americans should declare war on him and his fucking father. Here is some asshole who wants to run Saddam Hussien out of power not for the good of the country, but for the good of himself for two reasons. One, to settle the score from the Gulf War in '91, and two, to rule the resource known as Texas Tea (oil) in the middle east. It would be one piece of the puzzle to get that oil down there. So tell me Mr. fucking President, should we shed blood for your thirst for war? Congress doesn't think so, and neither do I. It is nice to see government make a good judgment call and shoot down the president. If the president vetoes anti war legislation, then it will only take 2/3 of the vote of congress to overrule your stupid ass, bitch.
Other topics that I would like to bring up. This West Nile thing, this is some fucked up shit as well. Is this a message from God saying we are going to get what is coming to us for making Britney Spears and N*Sync super artists and shit? Is this also a message for Chicago selling out Dave Matthews concerts as well? One can only tell.
I would also like to continue by saying Lisa Madigan has proved that the votes are thicker than blood. She sold her own father out to make herself look good in the election. Good for her. What her dad did was dead wrong.
The strike in baseball? Who gives a flying fuck? I will still support the Sox no matter what. I think the strike is a refresher for Chicago baseball. Let's face it, the Cubs and Sox both blew it this season. I mean, usually we are used to the Cubs blowing it, but I guess the Sox are entitled to a fuck up every now and then too.
By the way, thanks to all the Ranger fans that showed up to GT2K2. I didn't know I had that many people supporting me. Thank you. To all the haters, keep on hating too.
Now on a side note, I was asked by the all mighty Jesse Mendoza at J Street to write something about what was appealing to me about local music and so forth this month. So here it goes.
I was happy to discover many bands in Lake County through JSTTV. I hope that some of them come to play on SRTV. I think it is awesome that Five Pointe O released their debut, and I truly think they are one of the best Chicago bands to ever come out. I think that Slitheryn is another band that rocks, and once people give them a chance with an open mind and not have hangups about how old Frankie is, they will agree with me. They are awesome. I will also say on the record Cry for Dawn is a band who has kicked, screamed, and clawed their way to the Metro, and I am happy to see them make it. They are a band who loves their fans, and I also think their music gets better and better. So much raw emotion.
As far as newest band of the year, who can deny ADD of taking that title. They are super talented and I am proud to be doing some shit with them. I think the biggest disappointment was losing Mike Maro from Infrared. The day after 4-20 will always be a dark day for me and many people who knew Mike and the boys from Infrared. I also want to send a shout out to Milkplow. Here is a band who is not metal that caught my attention and in my mind is one of the very best Chicago has to offer. To my boys in Crashpoet, keep on kicking ass wherever you guys go. Always a great show. To Neotribe, the new demo is tight. I am looking forward to many of the new bands that are hitting the scene and seeing what some old ones can do. Bands like Aedes, Angst & Agony, Crazed, Seven, Fear of Sound, and the new Grindbox.
I would like to say this year has been a priviledge to bring some awesome shows to the kids and inhabitants to the local scene. I just found out about some more shows that people would like me to host as well as bring bands too. No matter what goes down at the Moose, the Ranger will continue to the best he can to break the habits of the mainstream, and showcase what deserves props. I will continue on with SRTV, and work hard to get back on the radio as I start Columbia College this month.
Chicago is the greatest city in this county, and I am proud to live here. We have some of the most gifted people in this city. It is a shame we live in a country ruled by a sadistic madman from Texas who's ultimate goal is to please himself before the people.
That is all for this month, we will see you at THC, whenever or whereever that may be.
