The next band up was Ton of Bricks who did at least an hours worth on music. The band also reminded the crowd that "The Stoned Ranger went through alot of effort for this show." Even though they are being signed to a major label, they were very gracious to be playing at the show, and this really was a cool thing. The crowd who came with Ton of Bricks basically took a liking to SFR, yet still thought he was an obnoxious freak.
After the brutal onslaught by T.O.B., Rypt decided to take stage and "rip things up." Not before SFR announced that the Boy Scouts were camping outside and he tried to get them to "come inside, drink some beer, and smoke some shit with him." Yes well, with many originals, and old covers, Rypt showed that they were a band great enough to close the show. Before the show was over, they asked the Stoned Ranger to come up and sing some Megadeth (Rypt's guitarist Jeremy said, "my favorite band but a new shitty album) SFR sang "In My Darkest Hour" and quite surprisingly quite well. People were basically speechless after his performance, until he opened his big mouth again.
Overall, it was a great show. Special thanks goes to Larry Bryant for making things happen and being very open minded about the occassion when the rest of the legion was not.
SUNDAY BLOODY SUNDAY
All was not well in Woodale when SFR brought the show that was his mom's "personal show' RESURRECTION. Despite the fact most of the Strictline crew that was there was
COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF THEIR ASSES, the show still went good considering that A. it was on a sunday, B. only about 40 people showed up, C. there were three awesome bands. The first band, making their Strictline return from CFII, Headcase played
a mindblowing set. Once again SFR was obnoxious and brutal as he tried to get the crowd out of the "PGA Golf Tournament Mode" becaouse all the crowd did was applaud the bands and SFR. Next was Brainwash, whose style was different than many other bands. One of the
most electrifying bands on stage yet, and the show was closed out by local punk heroes The Prisoners, who asked the Stoned Ranger to come up and sing a song that they wrote with his own lyrics. I can say I have never heard the word fuck used more in a song next to ICP. It was very funny and the crowd
totally digged. Another great effort by SFR, Andy, and the rest of the crew. Special thanks to the bands, Sharon, and to all the people who attended. Keep the spirit alive.
HAVE A MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS
(IT WILL BE WHEN SFR IS SANTA)
In early December, The Stoned Ranger will be having a show entitled "The Bong Before Christmas" which will be a fund raising event. He will raise food for charity, and put on an "Obnoxious Display of Powder (he asked me to put that) which he will stick his nose in as Tony Montana did in Scarface. We will give you more information as it comes.
WHCM SAYS NO, BUT THEATRE SAYS YES
When WHCM kicked out SFR, did they really think that would eliminate The Stoned Ranger from Harper College. Throughout the month of November, he will be playing the role of "Bobin" in the hilarious farce comedy "An Italian Straw Hat." We will have more info on this as time goes on. Congrats SFR.
WE ARE STILL WAITING ON SRTV
The OK to go with the show is being held up by the access cordinator of TCI/AT&T Cable Services. SFR will be in to meet most likely in October.
REVIVE HOPE & FEAR
Those lines are from the song "Resurrection" by Fear Factory, the the title of the song that inspired the name of the tributre show that SFR will do for his mother. She passed away on June 9, 1999, and although it most likely will be obnoxious, it will be of great sentimental value to the live lunatic.
*The bands 5.0 and BALLISTIC may be hopping on the Strictline Express.
*Another show may take place in November talking about how the sanity died, again.
*Expect to see some major changes in 3W in the next coming weeks.
That is all for this month. Have a safe and happy halloween.
