Hello my friends, colleauges, supporters, and anyone who I have smoked a joint with recently, I am here to tell you about a very bad thing that is going on in the little fuck hick town we know as Dekalb. Besides the fact there are thousands of students that are being spoonfed education by their parents, a huge misjustice has occured.
My show on September 23 entitled THE DAY THE SANITY DIED was abruptly canceled yesterday. This decision was made by the Elks Hall of Dekalb due to my internet flyer on my web site that was deemed controversial to the standards of the Dekalb chamber of commerce. The flyer had pictrues from rotten.com on it, and also said "the Huskies better smoke an ounce for this one." I was making a crazy flyer just to fit the theme of the title. Sure enough, the same GT2K incident that brought Elk Grove's finest to patrol my show happened again. Just before GT2K was ready to go, the Elk Grove Town Hall recieved an annonymous letter containg my internet flyer on GT2K and the village had shit in their pants 10 times over over it. Why? I don't know. The police tried to get EG to cancel the show. The VFW head said no, the show went with no problems and also kicked ass. A victory for us, the so called misfits of society.
Just this week, the same thing happened again. The Dekalb chamber of commerce recieved the flyer for this show. It imediately spread throughout the village and somehow all these people were in on it. After fighting to keep the show for three days, the headmaster of the hall, Jerry Yeoward said to me straight out he was happy with what he did, and that punks like us didn't deserve to have the date in the first place because it was only supposed to be 30-40 people. (Where he got that from I do not know, these guys probably were drunk off having sex with cows and shit) I tried to compromise with the Elks Hall. I tried to talk to the chamber telling them that this was a rock band and that this was blown out of porportion. I even changed the flyer, I did all I could. The bands that were involved in this are all really cool guys. Me and Discord have done the last three shows that I have did and some went good one went bad, but they are my buds straight up. Vis@40, I could not say enough about how much they have helped me meet new people and hwo funny Dave Sosong is. As far as Ballistic and Clockbox go, I have never worked with them before, but everyone is Balistic is really cool and like to have fun, and Clockbox (although I still have yet to meet other members in the band) would of been a great addition to this show. Dave is totally a cool guy and I am looking forward to The Halloween Concert. This really sucks for them because they could of picked up a little exposure by the students of NIU for this show. It could of been a great thing for all partiesinvolved.
I am very fucking pissed because I feel the stereotypes of life are one of the reasons why this show was canceled, I also feel pissed off that all of us (the bands and myself) have gone through hell to promote this show. We all want very much to still do the show, if we can't...well shit happens, what are we going to do? I'll tell you what I am going to do. I am going to find an ounce and smoke it, just like those damm huskies.
So how do you feel about this? Couldn't give a shit. Well sorry to hear that but this affects the whole scene in general. I am sick of people thinking we are all a bunch of fucking wild animals that destroy everything in our path. We just like to have fun. Myself and the bands take the things we do very seriously. So wanna help??? Here is what you can do:
first off call the Dekalb Elks Hall. Their number is 815-756-6912. Ask about the show on 9/23 and they will tell you it is canceled. Ask why? What happened? Shit like that. Then either hang up or express rage towards them. Whatever you want to do is up to you. Just iritate the fuck out of them. Maybe they will fold and give us the show maybe they won't. Who knows???
secondly the guy who I think is sending the flyers is a cable comissioner by the name of Bob Suriano. His e-mail address is Mgmgga@aol.com. (at press time we found out it was not Bob Suriano, and we know who it is. E-mail to find out) Put this on every porn site you can find so he has something worthwhile to bitch about. If it is not him, it is his partner that he buttfucks named Joe Botte. I have no info on him.
thridly e-mail the dekalb chamber of commerce at chamber@dekalb.org. We have a first ammendment in this country so it is time to use it. Do not threaten or totally bash this site ranger-style because they most likely will want to arrest you. If we all do this, we will most likely make history of creating one of the craziest rebellions against society to date. Please help the strictline in showing these guys turnabout is fair play without legal representation.
