First, I would like to thank the folks at JStreetzine.com for publishing this shit on their site. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Second, I would like to remind our good buddies Jim Ryan and Rod Blagoevich that the Ranger didn't need a primary. Come November your asses are going down. Bow down to the new governor THE STONED FUCKING RANGER. Third, to everyone who came to St. Ranger's Day, thank you for making this one of the biggest and best Ranger shows ever. We had at least 250 in the door that night and went through 5 kegs of beer like they were water. That is so beauitiful. It is poetry.
Now on with the shit. One thing I am sick of is fucking corporate America. It is a shame because like the title of this piece says, it may not be "hello" or "goodbye" one day. It may be "buy" and "sell." Contrary to these mother fucker's beliefs, money is not everything, nor is it the only thing. I am not bitching because I have no money. I am bitching because you people think if one has no money, they are a nobody.
I look at all the shit that is going on these days. I remember where companies would need to stand tall on their own to survive. Nowadays, we live in a new world where the only way to stand tall is to sell out. A proven example of this theory is the media conglamorate.
For you cats reading this that don't know what this term means, it is a corporation that owns 2, 3, even several others creating a super corporation. There are no radio stations in Chicago that are not owned by one (with the exception of Rebel) and there are no television stations owned by one either. Whatever happened to the family run business? It is now a fairy tale because most entertainment outlets rely on superpower brokers to survive.
We live in a world where there is no end to this bullshit. We saw the beginning where Ted Turner merged his Turnerstations with Time Warner. Time Warner owns many different outlets such as HBO, Warner Bros, Time magazine, and New Line Cinema. Then we saw Time Warner, already a huge superpower merge with another one known as AOL. Now there are rumors that AOL may merge with Pentinum. So many mergers and buyouts happen on a day to day basis, it is virtually impossible for one to know all.
What does this say for the country? It says that hard work does not get you anywhere anymore. It says that your ass is on notice 24-7 because you never know what button some CEO in some business is going to push next. Our radio industry is being manufactured into killing DJ's with computers that play the music for them. We see machines taking over life constantly. The concept of humanity is being killed more and more, day by day.
We rely on machines to do many vast different things for us daily. I fear that instead of us relying on machines to do futile tasks, we may rely on them one day just to exsist. The point is humanity is going down the toliet because these corporations are throwing new ideas and products at us. We as consumers either accept or deny these trends. Yet we are all receptacles waiting for the next piece of trash. We watch TV as it too provides us with new and decarotive ways to be "cool." We need more humanity, and less fantasy.
TV is killing us slowly and it rules are part of the problem. SRTV was created because it wanted to break that mold. It was a show that didn't follow the rules of traditional TV and exposed people to whatever I want to expose. If you like it cool. If not, I will continue to showcase what I like. I am not worried about focusing my attention to what "the people want."
Corporations are killing the very fabric of the "free enterprise" system that America is founded on. They say it is "business" but I say it is murder. Our race, our minds, our way of life is being murdered by those who think that humanity are useless droids being lined up 2 by 2 walking into the gates of heaven, or the doors of hell. Throughout our lives we are being told by these people what is right and wrong. That is why I say, REVOLT!!!!!
If you want to continue to be a cow in the herd, that is your business. Yet I feel that ideas that show art, talent, and feeling are more important to this world that business savy and cuthroat politics. I want anyone who reads this to find their talent. Whether it be sports, art, literature, music, whatever. Use it to the extreme. Forget about these fucking corporations who think they know humanity. Defy them and show them that they don't know shit. The only shit they know is the shit they eat from each other's assholes during their crappy board meetings. Stand out, stand up, tune in, turn on, fucking drop out, and scream fuck you to these people who believe that humans are all the same. These people may not want us dead physically, but they want us to be mentally deceased, so they can sell their fucking ideas to us "consumers." The only way they win is if we accept that way of life, and I myself will not do that. Turn off your TV, and open up your minds. The time has come to be an individual and live your own life, and not someone else's you idolize.
George W Bush is not a hero. He is all about business, not the little people like us. He is all about CEOs and business owners everywhere who live in the middle class. Don't buy this God bless America bullshit. Ask why is America doing what they are doing? Ask how many more times are they going to butt in to other countries affairs, and send us little people in there to do their dirty work. Ask not what your country can do for you, but what can you do for you country to make it better so we Americans are truly free. And ask what can happen to make humanity free from bigotry, fear, hate, and all those little things that corporations thrive off of.
I am sorry to get so socialogical and deep, but really. Your ultimate job is to live, so do it. See you next month, and hope to see you at 4-2-0.
Kind regards,
RANGER
