It's the early a.m.
Still I am in bed
Have been so for hours
Yet never my eyes have shut
I'm weak and weary
And I feel a trifle sick
My five pillows taunting me
Yet my mind floating away
Insanity has been reached
At least to an extent
I wish to close my eyes now
Strain to be content
It does not work
Slumber evades
The birds chirp outside
The fan lets off a hum
Even these synchronized rhythms
Exempt me drifting off
