Angel is a 242 year old vampire who is in love with Buffy. He is cursed with a conscience, which he got by killing a important Gypsy daughter. His name is Angelus, when he's a bad boy. He sired two vampires that we know about so far, Spike and Dru. It was in the 1790's when Angel was turned into a vampire by Darla when he was just 18. I will add more info later on. David Boreanaz, who plays the vampire Angel/Angelus, was born in Buffalo New Yor. Grew up in Philadelphia, graduated from Ithica College in New York, then moved to Los Angeles to try hishand at acting. He did a variety of odd jobs before he was discovered. He was discovered in a park outside of his house while walking his adorable dog, Bertha Blue. A few days later he was off to audition for the role of Angel, in which he got in no time at all. It was like he was born for the part. Off the set he is known as a wiseguy, but I think it only adds to his charm.
