My Big Fat Queer Pride Page

We're Here, We're Queer, Something Something

Yo! If you're reading this right now, you found the secret link on my page Congratulations! You're not a total idiot. As everyone who's anyone knows, I'm a big fat queer. Some uptight people might take offense to the word queer, or fat, for that matter, but both words accurately describe me, and have for most of my life. I'm comfortable with that, and if you're not, piss off.

I live with my girlfriend/life partner/flopmate/woman Jenny in St. Louis. We met last October after she had a dream about meeting a girl named Julie. Seriously, I'm not making this up. She checked PlanetOut's personals and I was the first name that popped up, because I had just updated my profile with my Halloween plans. She sent me an email with the "I had a dream about you" bit, and I thought that line is waaaay too corny to be fake, so I emailed her back. We hit it off, and have been inseparable every since.

This is June, considered National Gay Pride Month even if Dubya doesn't say so. In honor of this, the only month where queers are allowed to roam the streets and flaunt their relationships without the scorn of the moral majority, I created this page. That and I haven't created a page in ages and I wanted to see if I could still do it. So to all you rainbow toting, AIDS ribbon wearing, commitment ceremony attending, Ani Difranco listening freaks out there, stand up! Be proud of who you are! Be one with your uniqueness(god is that a word?) and don't ever be afraid to love who you want to. In this crazy, judgmental, irrational, cold lonely world we live in, the only thing that truly matters is that right before you fall asleep at night, you know that you are a good person. If you can do that, and find someone to steal the blankets from to boot, you're all set.
