All Natural is a classic, no frills Hip Hop duo from Chicago, Illinois. In 1994 the group was signed to a multi-album deal with now defunct Wild Pitch/EMI Records. Without sounding dated or yelling "old school," this tandem builds off of two essential elements of Hip Hop (the DJ & MC). In short, the name All Natural aptly describes the group's demeanor, style, and approach to music.
The enclosed four-song 12-inch showcase All Natural's versatility and staying power by presenting a spectrum of Hip Hop flavors. The song 50 YEARS is currently played across the country on radio such as radio shows such as The Yo Show (Chicago) and by Stretch and Bobbito (New York). Delivered over a smooth piano riff and a heavy bassline, 50 Years possesses the ability to, across the globe, appeal to Hip Hop audiences of all ages and from all walks of life. At a time in which groups are reminiscing about how Hip Hop used to be "back in the day," 50 Years presents a humorous description of the future of both Hip Hop and All Natural.
The 12-inch is rounded out by three additional bonafide hits, each of which could stand alone as a featured release. Hip Hop History 101 is a collage of famous & obscure Hip Hop phrase & breaks, and is played on The Sway & King Tech Wake Up Show (Los Angeles). Writer's Block features an inner city tale of does & don't supported by a funky bassline. MC Avenger is a down and dirty underground club hit augmented by a "superhuman" concept and loop.
The member of All Natural (Tone B. Nimble & Capital D) are no strangers to the Hip Hop community. Tone B. Nimble (a member of Clark Kent's Superman, Inc. DJ Crew) is the focus of a February 1997 news article in Rap Sheet. He was the mix DJ for 106 Jamz' "The Yo Show" and reported for both Hits and Urban Network magazine. Capital D has been a freelance writer for the SOURCE MAGAZINE for the past two years (See pages 20 & 22 of the February 1997 issue). He serves as All Natural's lyricist and producer.
