Enchanted Hollow

I had been walking for what seemed like hours. The summer sun shined but I felt cool and comfortable in this enchanted forest. My enchanted forest, for I had created it. With my thoughts, imagination, love, and magick I created my own enchanted forest. Many secrets and many mysterious creatures inhabit this place, many that did not come from me.

I had been walking for what has seemed like hours. What am I searching for? Something was pulling at me, oh what was it? I created this world myself, I should know every foot but it seems to have built it-self. The earth kissed my bare pale feet as I walked alone under the gigantic trees. I walked on a foot-wide path with a rainbow of tiny wild flowers guarding the surrounding area. The trees of the forest were very tall, the leaves were light shades of green and some where dark shades, the trunks of the trees were not large but they weren't small either. Among the wild flowers were shin high grasses all were light shades of a greenish-yellow. The grasses and leaves of the ancient trees swayed with the wind in a never-ending dance.

The wind enjoyed playing with my dark green and white sleeveless shirt and tugged and ruffled my knee high skirt like it was an emerald lake with its own reflections to gaze upon.

As I walked a curly strand of my fire-red hair fell in front of my pale freckled face. As I pulled the hair away from my face I heard the soft voice. A murmur barely audible in the song the warm wind sang. Like some unknown mystery the faint whisper floated through the trees and around my body as if the wind gave it flight. I stopped and looked about the grasses and the trees but my eyes did not reveal the owner of the voice. Just when I turned to continue down the winding path I saw out of the corner of my eye a white flash. I turned to look but saw nothing but the greens and the yellows of the forest.

I was going to call out to the voice that I had heard but as I opened my mouth no words were formed. It was then that I realized that I had lost the ability to comunicate in words. I had stopped speaking to the people who lived in my village and I had only communicated with them with facial expresions and animal noises. I had stopped speaking because I had nothing to say, and when I did speak none would listen. So I had lost the ability to speak in my native tounge, and I haven't spoken one word since I left. What I had aquired was the ability to communicate with the animals and to hear the plants and the trees of the forest sing.

I had felt so lost there. But in this forest I feel at peace and I have no fear. I feel at home. The joy floods through my veins as I think about what I had left behind, and now, what I have. I have found my home, my true home and I will never go back. Never. Who would go back to that? My heart was shattered, friendships betrayed, blinding loneliness, and I didn't belong. So I left, and I came here. This is my new life.
