Ben thought about how crazy people are. Constantly driven, never happy, insatiability
producing insatiability. He shook his head in wonderment. Incessant motion, how very
unlike the physical, inanimate world, with friction and gravity pulling and slowing
everything and entropy constantly increasing, slowing into perpetually stationary chaos.
It seemed to Ben that humanity is part of two realms, the first the realm of the universal,
insuring his eventual death, causing him to age, giving him physical toys with which to
play, and the second the realm of the living, which insured continual rebirth of life,
constantly searching for order. No wonder humanity is so messed up, in order to
maintain it’s membership in the second world, it must be quite literally insane, for only a
person gripped by insanity would even attempt to give order to the first world, as all
living things must. It seems a function of living to be insane, for everyone who “goes
sane” ultimately yields to the whims of the first world in order to end the strife between
the two, effectually resigning from membership in the second. Ahh, well. Ben would be
happy in his insanity for now, at least he was crazy enough to be happy.
