NEWS FROM THE METAL COMMUNITY

News for 6/26/ KNAC.COM U.K. Correspondent Robyn Doerian Gets An Exclusive Peak Into The Plot Of Cradle Of Filth's Upcoming Movie British schlock horror metallers Cradle Of Filth are about to star in a full-length movie. Cradle Of Fear is the brainchild of Alex Chandon (From The Cradle To Enslave video fame), who has scripted the story and will direct the ghoulish production. In the tradition of the horror series Tales From The Crypt, it will consist of five tales, which run around each other - the first one becoming the last one, with the three in the middle interacting. The opening scene features Cradle Of Filth playing live in a club with the band taking up various cameo roles throughout the stories that unfold. For his sins, Cradle singer Dani Filth appears as a character who believes he is an eternal vampire but instead turns out to be a total nutcase whose father is a police investigator searching for a serial killer. One of the other storylines includes a tale about an amputee who loses his leg racing a sports car for the woman he loves and ends up murdering someone to obtain a replacement limb. In another strange twist, a man who analyses websites and reports those of an offensive nature to a censorship committee gets so turned on in the process, that he ends up getting filmed and appearing in one. Of the project, Dani remarks: "If it turns out as good as the script reads, not only will it be funny and quite gross, but it will stylish and sexy. It will remain a totally underground film, as Alex doesn't want to get it rated by censors, hence it will only be available to buy from his website. He is also doing an accompanying soundtrack which will feature a new track from us and some really fucked up drum and bass music." Cradle Of Filth are also heading into the studio on June 21 to record new album, Midian. Featuring Dani Filth (vocals), Paul Allender (guitar), Gian Pyres (guitar), Robin Graves (bass), Adrian Erlandsson (drums) and Martin Powell (keyboards) Midian is scheduled for release on Halloween 2000. Prior to the album, there is a single planned which will feature vocals from German opera diva Diamanda Galas. "The new album is named after the fictitious biblical place, Midian, where the monsters lived and it is a collection of stories related to that," says the vocalist. "There are a lot of songs that are really guitar driven and it reflects everything we have done to date." Immediately following the albums release, COF will tour Europe with American dates planned for early 2001. "Thanks to King Rudo for this news" -webmaster News for 4/10/00 Cradle Of Filth are still writing and recording the new album. One song title is : "Her Ghost In The Fog". The Style is said to be like that of From The Cradle To Enslave - more faster paced and not big epics. Looks like the band didn't like Mark's performances, because there are rumors saying that he isn't Lecter's substitute anymore. The keyboarder is Martin Powell, ex-My dying bride. The title of the new album will probably be "Midian". News for 3/6/00 Alex Chandon, director of From the Cradle to Enslave, is working with CoF on their next video. It continues on from the FtCtE video to show what happens to the band next. Compared to FtCtE, it will be more surreal and gothic, and the story will be less linear. This time there will only be one (uncensored) version made. Apart from the new CoF video, Alex Chandon is also working on a separate project with Dani. It is a 90 minute hardcore horror film called 'Cradle of Fear', consisting of five sick stories interwoven by Dani himself. Alex promises "It's going to be the darkest, hardest, and sexiest stuff I've ever made." The film starts shooting in April, with an August release planned. The film will only be available by mail order and over the Internet. More details about how to get the film will be posted soon. Expect to see releases soon from these bands Mlevolent Creation Best of cd, Dismember: Hate Campaign, Incantation:The infernal storm, Cephalic Carnage: Exploiting dysfunction, Death Live album. News for 1/29/00 The Adult magazine Penthouse will be featuring an article on Black Metal in it's March issue. News for 1/27/00 Cradle of Filth has made music in the Playstation game called Shadowman. And they are planning to make video of that song. Dani is currently starring in an English gangster film called "Glass Houses". He plays an assassin called Christ, and going along with the theme has stigmata (from being shot through the hands), he also has a beard. The band will probably be part of the "Second coming" soundtrack, an horror movie from England. Old songs of Iron Maiden and Sister of Mercy, will probably be part of it also. The new album is now scheduled for June. The sound of it will be like the one in the Dusk and her embrace era. This album has no particular concept, which means more possibilities. The "From the..." USA EP, will be out on March 21st. It will contain a bonus track, "Dawn Of Eternity", a Massacre cover. News for 1/19/00 Control Denied guitarist Chuck Schuldiner has successfully undergone life-saving surgery performed today at NYU Medical Center. The experimental procedure, requiring five specialists, began at 7:30am and ended shortly before 4:30pm.
