Course Description
This is an introduction into many of the facets of
psychology. Topics that will be emphasized include history and systems,
research methodology, biological basis of behavior, learning and memory,
child and adolescent development, personality, and social and abnormal
psychology. This course will consist of chapter quizzes and assignments,
as well as a comprehensive final. Class participation will consist
of posting questions relating to the course material and responding to
other students comments. The website will be used to post lectures
and obtain additional course information. Quizzes and assignments
will be due at the end of each week.

Week Nine

Quizzes
Quizzes will be worth 15 points and will be derived
from material in the lecture notes and textbook. The quizzes will
be open book and due no later than the end of the week.
Assignments
The four course assignments are each worth 25 points.
The assignments will be chapter specific and also include self-assessment
tests. A one page summary of the assignment will due and turned in
by the end of the week it was assigned.
Participation
Class participation will be worth 5 points for each
chapter. This will include comments about material covered within
the textbook and any additional course material. You can ask a question,
comment on information that expands what is covered within the chapter,
or argue points you disagree with.
Final
The final will be a comprehensive multiple-choice
test with questions derived from the content we covered within the course.
It will be worth 150 points and due by the end of the final week.
Course Evaluation
Grades will be based on the following:
14% = Participating in class discussions
22% = Class assignments
32% = Quizzes
32% = Final
A = 90 - 100 %
B = 80 - 89 %
C = 70 - 79 %
D = 60 - 69 %
F = 50 - 59 %
