Interview with Tom of Metal Nightmare Zine

I can't believe I forgot to ask questions about his zine. He wanted interesting questions, but I'm sure he didn't mind. Did he? Hooo boy. At the end of the interview there is a link to his site and and within the site you can find the info on why he quit printing his zine. This was conducted through email.

If I had delayed this interview any further, would you stalk me and write "I know what you did" in my cats' blood all over my room?

Nah.... Cats tend to fight back when you try to kill them. Don't know why
they'd be adverse to that. Besides, I'd write the message in goat's blood.
That's much more METAL!!

Do you have a secret collection you don't want anyone to know about?

Collection? You mean like severed heads or Barbie dolls? Nope. Just lots of old comic books that probably aren't worth too much, and my CDs of course!

Do you have a job outside of the zine?

Yes, "unmetal" as having a job may be. I work as a computer programmer. That's not really so "unmetal" of a profession though. From what I've heard, the guys who started Apple Computers used to listen to acid rock while writing code or building their first computers. And I think I heard something about Steve Souza from Exodus working as a programmer too. (ed- Hey, I work at Wal*Mart - Sony Estrella)

Do you listen to anything out of the ordinary?

Well, I'll admit that the first album I ever had was "License to Ill" by the Beastie Boys. But hey, Kerry King played on one song, so it's not all bad. I used to like some hardcore like Sick of it All, and I do like a little glam stuff-- first two Twisted Sister albums rule-- but I pretty much weeded out all the non-metal stuff from my collection. I did keep my Lynyrd Skynyrd albums though!

What's the weirdest thing you've ever done out of boredom?

Uh... answer interviews like this? No, seriously, I don't know.

Do you think I'm a dork?

Why should I think that? Sounds like you've been hanging out in Unholy Metal chat a little too much.
(ed- ha! - Sony Estrella)

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear these words?
Rock

Roll.

Ball
Pokemon.

Elephant
My ex.

Sony Estrella
You're too young to know....

Clock
Can I go home yet?

Book
Conan the Barbarian stories by R E Howard.

Glitter
Glam.

Have you ever played quarter shots?

Nah... I don't drink that much, and I do it on my terms,
not because of a game.

Have you ever been rumoured that you were dead?

Not that I know of, although I'm sure some people wish it were so.

If you had to pick a stage name, what would it be?

Gee... well, Aaarrgon is already taken by some guy in Mystic Circle, not
that I'd name myself that. I've always like the sound of "Maelstrom" though.

What was the funniest interview you've ever done?

This one... aren't you going to ask about my zine or anything?

Have you ever been asked or dared to do something incredibly off-the wall?

No, sorry, boring life here.

Have you ever been stalked?

Not that I know of.

Can I stalk you?

I don't know... you might find I like it, so that wouldn't
be the effect you'd want to have on me.
(ed- In my opinion, if the stalkee enjoys it, that's the best stalking anyone can do)

That's about it for this interview. Any last words?

Why, are you going to stalk and kill me? Since you didn't ask anything about
my zine, I'll have to tell everyone reading this to go check out Metal Nightmare Zine. Thanks for the interview!
