Did they ever tell you
your eyes are filled with light?
Did they ever hold you
and kiss the moon good night?
Did they ever hear you
singing in the Spring?
Did they never know you
Oh Flame that loving brings?
Did they ever kiss you
as much as I would now
And hope that love enfolds you
in its tender bough?
Did they ever hold your hand
and kiss your fingers so?
Perhaps I should not wonder
as in the night I go.
