My Boston Pictures

This is the entrance to the Boston Common. That is, of course, a statue of George Washington. This was taken in mid-September.

One of the most scenic areas of Boston, this is a view of the Charles River, overlooking the Esplanade. The Prudential Building is in the background. This is my favorite place in Boston, where the rollerblading is great.

From the Esplanade, this is one of the inner ponds, looking south towards downtown Boston. Not quite as impressive as the big sailboats... but it looked like a nice shot.

Here is a great shot of the Prudential building, and its reflection in the Christian Science Complex reflecting pool. It just gives you a good idea of what Boston looks like at night.

This is an excellent panoramic of the Charles River and reservation. It was taken from the bike path on the north side of the river. To the left is the John Hancock building.

The USS Constitution, with the downtown Boston skyline in the background. This is the US Navy's oldest commissioned ship. The white steeple below the point of the ship is the Old North church, I believe.

I took this picture because of the reflections of the clouds that are visible on the Hancock building. The long bridge in front is the Harvard Bridge, which is Massachusetts Avenue. Crossing that on foot or by wheel is pretty exciting!

Who says you can't see the sun set in the city? This is from the bike path in the Esplanade again, looking up river towards the Harvard Bridge. The vibrant colors really came through in the photo.

This is the Massachusetts State House, which overlooks the north end of the Boston Common. It is situated at the top of a hill, and the sidewalks are very narrow, which made taking this picture while on rollerblades quite the challenge.

Winter arrives in Boston! This is the path down Commonwealth Avenue, littered with statues.

These willows give the area a real interesting color, especially in contrast to the sky and the cityscape, near sunset.

The Frozen Charles River.

Here's the Frog Pond in the Boston Commons. They have an ice rink set up for public skating. Very pretty at night, when it's snowing!

Commonwealth Avenue all lit up for winter!

One night, Boston resembled Gotham City with these eerie glowing clouds swirling about the buildings. This is what it looked like from the Harvard Bridge.

That same night, looking down Boylston Street.

From our apartment we can literally listen to Red Sox games. This is Fenway Park at night from the living room window.

The Moon, Jupiter, and Saturn (in descending order of brightness) grouped together over the Christian Science Center.

More to come...
