BIBLE STORIES FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY TO ENJOY

David and Goliath 1 Samuel 17:1-50

The Isrealites and the Philistines were bitter enemies. The Philistines were big bullies. They picked on Isreal and made fun of God. They had a bigger army and better weapons. They also had a giant-Goliath-who was nine feet tall. He could win any battle, so he challenged the Isrealite to fight him. GoTliath wasn't afraid of anyone, not even God. David was not a soldier. He was shephard boy. But David was not afraid of Goliath. He had courage because he trusted in God. When David shot a stone at Goliath from his slingshot, God made it hit Goliath right between the eye and knock him out. You may not have to fight a nine-foot-tall bully, but you will have other "giant" problems. When they challenge you, you won't have to worry because God is with you.

THE BOY IN THE CROWD JOHN 6:2-13
What is your favourite food? Hot dogs? Pizza? Bread and fish? Not bread and fish? That is what a little boy who went to hear Jesus speak brought for his lunch basket. People made their own bread in Bible times that was hard and flat. And everyone liked fish. There were lots of fishermen on the Sea of Galilee who caught fish to sell at the markets. When Jesus disciples were trying to find food to feed all the people who had come to hear Jesus, this little boy gave them his lunch. You can read what happened when Jesus took it. It all happened when Jesus took it. It all happened when the little boy gave Jesus everything he had. What can you give to Jesus?

BABY MOSES Exodus 2:1-4
Do you know which was the smallest boat in the Bible? This boat could hold only one passenger and that passenger was just a baby! Moses mother made this little boat so she could hide Moses from the evil people who wanted to hurt baby boy's. She took some grassy plants that grew near the river, wove them into a basket, and then made it water proof with tar. She wrapped baby Moses in a blanket, put him in the little boat, and watched over him so he would be safe. Because Moses mother had risked making this little boat, Moses was kept safe. He grew to be a leader in Isreal. God wants us to do what we know is right, even if it is not easy.

Jonah and the big Whale Jonah 1

Do you know that there was a boat with passenger who wanted to be thrown overboard? God wanted Jonah to go east across the desert to Nineveh, a big, evil city where people needed to hear about God. But Jonah went west instead, across the sea on a big trading ship headed for another country. Jonah went below the deck to hide from God of course that's impossible. But God still wanted Jonah to go to Nineveh, so he sent a bad storm. Jonah told the sailors to throw him overboard, and when they did the sea grew calm. The boat sailed on to Tarshish with a crew that had learned about God's power. Jonah ended up on a very different kind of boat-a hugh fish that took him back where he started. Jonah finally went to Nineveh as God had said. It is always better to obey God first.

ADAM AND EVE GENESIS 3
Have you ever done anything wrong? Of course you have! Everyone makes mistakes. When God created Adam and Eve, he made them perfect and sinless. In the garden of Eden, God had only had one rule, not to eat the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Unfortunately, Adam and Eve made a big mistake. Instead of obeying the Lord, they listened to satan and ate the forbidden fruit. The perfect world God had made became soiled by sin. Because of Adam and Eve's sin, each of us are born sinners. No matter who we are, what we are, what we do, or where we live, we are all sinners. We do bad things, even when we do not want to. The good news is that when we believe in Jesus Christ as our Saviour, God forgive us.

Noah's Ark Genesis 6:11-22

Do you know which was the biggest boat in the Bible? God designed and engineered it, and Noah built it. It was so big it could hold one-and-a-half football fields and was high as a four-story building. Noah's boat had to carry every pairs of animals in the whole world. Considering the size of the ark, it may have carried almost 45,000 animals. Noah, his family. And all the animals were on the ark for a whole year so they had to carry lots of food. God covered the entire earth with water because there was so much sin. But Noah's family and the animals were safe in the boat because Noah had obeyed God's instructions. God tells us what to do for a good reason. We need to do what God says.

The Widow's Gift

Jesus saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. "I tell you the truth,"He said, "this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts of their wealth; but this poor widow put in all she had."

ANIMAL IN THE BIBLE SHEEP PSALMS 23
If you could be any animal in the world, what would you be? In the Bible, God's people are often called sheep. This is because sheep are not able to take care of themselves very well. They need a shephard to guide them and keep them safe. It is so easy for sheep to wander off and get lost. If the shephard doesn't find them quickly, they can be eaten by a wild animal. Jesus is like a shephard to us. He wants to guide us and take care of us. But we must follow him.

The STORY OF ISAAC GENESIS 22:2-13
Isaac knew how much his father, Abraham, loved God. Isaac loved God too and was glad to go on a trip to offer a sacrifice to God. When they sacrificed an animal, they killed it and presented it to God by burning it on an altar of stones. God wanted his people to do this because it showed how much they loved and trusted him. But Isaac was surprised when they built their altar, and his father tied him up. Abraham didn't want to hurt Isaac, but he wanted to obey God even more. Isaac trusted that his father was doing what was right. An angel stopped Abraham from hurting Isaac. God knew that Abraham loved him more than anything. Isaac wanted to love God, just as his father did. Do you love God more than anything?

Daniel and the Lion's Den Daniel Chapter 6

Daniel was a very wise man. He loved God very much and always obeyed and trusted Him. Because Daniel was such a good person, the king had him rule over all the princes of the land with two other presidents. The princes tricked the king into throwing Daniel into the lions den. But no wound of any kind was found on Daniel, because he believed in God. The king was very glad, because he loved Daniel. The king had the princes who tricked him thrown into the den. The lions broke all their bones into pieces.

CAIN AND ABEL GENESIS 4:1-2
Cain was really jealous of his brother Abel. There were no priests or temples in those days, so each person offered sacrifices to God. Abel was a shepherd, so he brought an offering from the flocks, and that pleases God. Cain was a former, so he brought some of the food he grew, but that did not please God. Instead of talking to God about it, Cain killed his brother. Jealousy can make people bitter and angry. If you are jealous of your brother or sister, Ask God to help you instead. Jealousy only brings problems.

JOSEPH AND HIS BROTHERS GENESIS 37:4-36
Jacob had lots of sons, but he showed that one was is favourite. Jacob loved Joseph very much, and he showed his love by giving him a beautiful coat of many colour. This coat didn't make Joseph's brothers happy. Then Joseph began telling his brothers about his dreams that they would all one day bow down to him. The brothers became so angry that they decided to kill Joseph. Joseph's brothers were hurt by their father and were angry at Joseph. But they were wrong to want to hurt their brother. God took care of Joseph, and many years later Joseph took care of his entire family-even his brothers who were so mean to him.
