After waiting five long years for Sam to come home, his return felt very much like the miracle his leaping had been to begin with. We still didn't know why exactly he'd been chosen to right all the wrongs he had during the time he was gone.

But I knew Sam had his own theories about why he'd finally made it home, and once the press cleared and the resident egg-heads had all given their various explanations, I figured he would share them with me.

"Faith," he told me when the time came. "It was faith that led me home."
