NEWS/UPDATES

February 8th, 2002: All the links have been changed, alot has changed at the group lately. Check it out if you haven't yet. Thats it for this update.

May 9th, 2001: THIS CLUB HAS MOVED! For awhile now most of the members hated the Yahoo format. Yahoo is changing over to a "Group" format this month. Since everyone hated yahoos new idea, we had to find a new home. With the help of fellow 3.1 owner Ben Phelps and his friend John Oliver (webmaster at http://www.gmforums.com) setup a new board for this club. Now this club is located at http://60degreev6pushrodperf.gmforums.com/ (Linked below). This club has more than one board now which includes a 2.8/3.1/3.1Tur/3100/3400 Performance, General, Swap Meet, and Members Rides. As the club grows we plan to add more boards in the future. Since the addition of the 3400 SFI V6s, we needed to change the clubs name. We wanted to include all 60 degree pushrods in the name. The clubs new name is "60 Degree V6 Pushrod Performance". How do you sign up to become a member? First you have to be a member of http://www.gmforums.com, to sign up there click here. You'll have full access to all GMforum boards except ours. Our boards are gathered up as a club. You can read them, but to post you have to be a member. To join, e-mail Ben and I here. Be sure to include your user name at Gmforums. We'll add you as soon as possible (within hours most of the time). If you need any further help, please e-mail us. I decided to keep this section of the site up as an achieve. There's a lot of good info on here I didn't want to delete. Also, this is sort of the webpages' "history". I won't be updating this site anymore. On the new page theres a News section that Ben or I can keep you informed on whats going on at the site. I hope you consider joining the new club! Thats it for this update.

April 23rd, 2001: Today I added a new link in the links section. I add Mike Daniels' (fellow 3.1 MPFI owner) webpage to the list. I still haven't had time to get that gallery up. I got a few of the pictures uploaded on my PC, thats about it. I have some kinda big arts test Monday in English, so I have to study. Seems like my weekends are always ruined because of school. Everytime I want to get something done, either I get a big assignment, or a test on Monday! Well, MAYBE i'll get that gallery next week. I better not make any promises, if I do, I'll have some other assignment to ruin my weekend. Thats it for this update.

April 15th, 2001: Today I added two new performers in the performers section. I added "Rob Tobin's, 1997 Chevrolet Malibu" and "Scott Haydon's, 1990 Chevrolet Lumina Euro". Both are really nice cars. If you've ever seen pictures of a white Malibu with white GTP wheels, Rob is the owner. If you've ever seen pictures of a low rider Lumina on the net, Scott Haydon is the owner. I'd suggest taking a look at them. Rob Tobin also sent me his website address along with the perfomers submision. I posted his webpage in the links section. Since I just got a couple pictures of my engine, I decided to post one on my performers section. I wanted to keep both pictures of the car on there (since there the nicest I have to date) so I pasted the engine picture into the "side car" picture. Why did I do this? Well, I only allow 2 pictures to be posted on the performers section. I know, i'm the webmaster, I could of cheated but it would of been unfair to everyone else. I was suppose to have a gallery up this weekend, but I don't think I can make that possible. I have 2 reports due in English and Spanish class so i've been extremely busy. I hope to have it up very soon. I will include pics of my custom a-pillar, cold-air induction, crankcase breather, etc. I hope to have this up but this coming weekend or the weekend after that. Check back soon! Thats it for this update.

April 10th, 2001: Today I added Ash Dobbs to the performers section of this site. Ash drives an 1989 Chevy Cavalier Z24 with a 2.8 MPFI V6. He has a few little things done to it. He lives in Oklahoma City, so we often go cruising with our cars. I updated Tyre Daniely's Performers section. He's done a few more upgrades on both of his Citations, including an engine swap! I have several pictures that were scanned (by Wal-Mart). I plan to post a gallery or something soon (hopefully by this weekend). I also took pictures of my Ram-Air/Cold-air induction setup. I might setup a section about that soon. Stay tuned! That's it for this update.

April 2nd, 2001: I added a new performer in the performers section today. I added Joe Ortiz's 1997 Chevrolet Monte Carlo LS. Check it out! In these past few weeks we've been going through hell trying to get headers produced. Here's the story: "Hotshot" headers gave up on the headers (at least that what we thought). Chris Williams contacted "The Others Guys" Header company and they said they would produced headers for us for a cheap price. Well, the Grand Prix store and some people got involved and messed up the deal. Supposedly someone quoted the wrong price to us I guess (don't really know that part too well, sorry). Anyway the correct price is around $900! The wierd part comes up... When "Hot Shot" had the Chevy Lumina 3100 SFI, and were making prototype headers for the car, "The Other Guys" headers mailed a letter to "Hot Shot" basically telling them that if the produce these headers, they will be sued for copying there design. How can you sue a company for a design that your company ("The Other Guys" in this case) hasn't even created yet? Supposedly, "The Other Guys" is suppose to rule the market on GM FWD V6 headers. As soon as "Hot Shot" got this letter, the pulled the plug on this project and left us with nothing. They didn't tell us the truth either, they said "it was too hard to make", which is bullshit. Later we found out the truth. Thanks to this scandal, we probably won't be able to get headers, not easily anyway. Well, the deal was canceled so now were back at step #1, who will make headers for us? Will we ever have headers produced by a company? As of right now, we don't know. I sure hope so. I know Chris Williams is finding out more. Hopefully we can find someone to produce headers in the $500 range. Thats about how much everyone wants to pay for them, no one wants to pay $900 for a set. Not many people can afford that. I'll keep you posted on what happens. That's it for this update.

March 19th, 2001: I didn't update any of the pages today, but I did change my e-mail address. Since JUNO deleted my old account, I had to get a new account. I can now be e-mailed at: IronIndian@juno.com. That's it for this update.

March 11th, 2001: Today I added Kevin Krempa's, 1995 Oldsmobile Achieva S to the performers section of this site. He's done a couple bolt-ons and he has a big stereo system in his car. Check it out! Today I got a shorter web address for this webpage. As you know, this webpage can be accessed at: https://www.angelfire.com/id/newssection/performance31v6.html. Now it can also be accessed at: http://performance31v6.cjb.net. Feel free to enter the site either way. That's it for this update.

March 5th, 2001: Today I deleted the "2.8/3.1/3100 Headers" section. To keep track of the news on the future headers, watch the message forum. The info has been changing alot lately. I renamed the "2.8/3.1/3100 Gathering" section to "Gathering". I updated the "Gathering" section with the location and dates of the GM 60 Degree V6 gathering. Thats it for this update.

February 11th, 2001: Last week Ben Phelps sent me a nice shot of his Grand Prix. I got rid of his old picture and added this one. Check it out! I think its on of the nicest pictures of a Grand Prix i've ever seen. That's it for this update.

February 4th, 2001: Today I added David Williams and his 1993 Pontiac Grand Prix LE to the performers section of this site. He's performed various suspension, engine, and stereo upgrades to his car. Check it out! Fellow club member and performer Franz Peters and his brother Dan just started a performance shop. This shop is called FDP Performance. He will be selling custom parts for the 2.8/3.1/3100 engines along with some Ford stuff as well. He'll be selling more parts in the upcoming months. I added his link in the Links section of this site. That's it for this update.

January 28, 2001: Lately i'm sure everyone has heard about the future plans for 2.8/3.1/3100 headers right? Well, all those rumors are true. HotShot headers decided to make headers for us, but there are a few things we must do. If you would like to find out more about this, go here. Hopefully we'll have a set in production by next month! Brian's W-body Pics and info page has moved, so I posted the new link in the Links section of this page. I also added a link to ASP as well. They make an underdrive pulley for the 2.8/3.1/3.1 T engines. You can find both links in the Links page of this site. I also added a few more companys in the Mods section. As for the Club Gathering this summer, all GM 60 Degree V6's are welcome to join. Not just the 2.8/3.1/3.1T/3100 but the 3.4 (pushrod) and the 3.4 DOHC are welcome too. That's it for this update.

January 20, 2001: Today I added Eddie Cuevas', 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix SE to the Performers list of this site. Check out his ride! I created a new section called "Join the club". I've gotten several e-mails asking how to join this club. Now all you have to do is to go to that section. It has all the details you need to get a membership here. I also updated the Trouble Shooting section today. I mentioned where to go to join this club. That's it for this update.

January 15, 2001: Today because of high demand, I created a gathing section. Hopefully this summer, this club will gather up somewhere in the United States. First we need to see where everone lives, so everyone has to travel the same mileage. If you interested in attending this meeting, please sign up. I also created a Repairs section to help you do simple maintaince stuff on your 2.8/3.1/3100 engines. I hope you find it helpful. Thats it for this update.

December 21st, 2000: Today Jameson Neumann sent me 2 pictures of his Beretta. I posted them on his section in the performers section, check it out! I also did some work in the modifications section. I changed several things in that section. I added flow numbers of some of the popular mufflers out there. I got a few e-mail requests, so I decided to add this to the site so it can help others. Special thanks goes to Aaron Jenkins for posting the numbers on the 3.1 Message board. By the way, these tests came out of Car Craft magazine. That's it for this update.

December 10th, 2000: Today I added Jameson Neumann and his 1991 Chevy Beretta to the performers list. I decided to remove Twin Dual Cam (http://www.twindualcam.com) from the links section. Why did I do this? Well, for a long time they promised performance parts for our engines. Last week they decided not to do 3.1 stuff and stick with the 3.4 DOHC. This kinda makes me mad because they even had a section on the main page of there site and they deleted it. Anyway, It's kind of rude to say your going to do something and then not do it. Twin Dual Cam still carries nice suspension packages for the GM W-bodies though. I finally posted a link to RSM Motorsports. Sorry it took so long! You can find that new link in the Links section. By the way, these past weeks there have been chats held in the clubs chat room. Feel free to come! Schedules for these chats are usally posted on the message forum. That's it for this update.

November 27th, 2000: Today I added a new performer to the list. I added Ben Phelps', 1991 Pontiac Grand Prix SE. He's done a bunch of engine and stereo mods. Check it out! Also, I exchanged links with American 4/6 Cly Performance. That link can be found in the links section. That's it for this update.

November 13th, 2000: Today I added two new performer sections. Both cars are owned by the same man, Tyre Daniely. Both of them are Citations, one of them he dropped a 1989 2.8 MPFI V6 and modified it somewhat. Both of them are impressive cars. Citations are very light weight, so a Citation + a 2.8 MPFI V6 (modified) = Rice killer! The other one is a X11 with a Carbed 145 HP 2.8L engine. Check these vehicle out! Tyre also gave me a picture of his 2.8 MPFI V6 to use on the Specs section of this site. He also gave me a little more info on the 2.8 MPFI motor, so I added some more details in that section. Thanks for all the help Tyre! That's it for this update.

November 6th, 2000: Today I added several pictures in the Modifications section. I thought it was looking dull in there without pictures so I decided to put some decent pictures of some parts. It turned out pretty well! I also added two new Performers into the 2.8/3.1/3100 Performers section. One of them was a 1994 Grand Prix (owned by Mark Paschal), and the other was a 1990 Cavalier Z24 (owned by Franz Peters). Check them out! Also, I added a new link in the links section. It's Mr T's 1991 Grand Prix. Check it out, his car has been featured in a couple of magazines. That's it for this update.

October 31th, 2000: Today I added a new performer in the 2.8/3.1/3100 Performers section. His name is Matt Foresta and he drives a 1995 Grand Prix SE with some cool mods. Check it out! That's it for this update.

October 23th, 2000: Today I added a new section called "2.8/3.1/3100 Performers". This section is for owners of the these engines who love than and even race them. I added my car in that section. That's the format i'll be using for each entry. People have asked me what I got on my car, well it's up there for the world to see. Today I found some new parts availible for the 2.8/3.1/3100 engines, so i added them to the list in the "Modifications" section. I also added Flowtech for one of the muffler choices. Speaking of mufflers I got my done! I got dual 2 1/4" Flowtech Afterburner Mufflers installed with a inline 2 1/4" Red Resonator. It has a deep throaty sound just like a Flowmaster with less resonance. There constructed just like a Flowmaster with no packing of any type, just baffles. I never knew a 3.1 could sound so deep and throaty! I compare to a V8, i'm not joking. It's that great! I've been turning heads all week, I even pissed off a few Honda guys. Anyway, I'm definatly a fan of Flowtech Afterburner mufflers now. If you want a bad ass sound for little cash, look at some Flowtech Afterburners. I also added a link to there site in the "Links" section. That's it for this update.

October 16th, 2000: I added a link to the Links section today. It goes to Brian's Pic and Info page. He has a lotta nice pics of his car and other W-bodies, go check it out. For those of you that have been wondering about my exhaust plans, I've already picked the mufflers out, now I have to get them installed. I think i'll have them done this Thurs or Friday. I should have a lotta free time on those days to get the job done. I'll let you know when there installed. That's it for this update.

October 8th, 2000: Today I added a link to the "Tri State GM FWD Club". Check it out. I think I have finally made a final choice on Mufflers for my car. I'm going with Flowtech Afterburners. I might have to use a resonator, I sure hope not though. I want my exhaust as free flowing as possible, yet not way too loud. Now I have to find a time to get them installed! I can't do it this coming weekend. Perhaps next weekend? We'll see, I hope it sounds good. I'll let you know how everything goes. That's it for this update.

September 4th, 2000: Today I added a new section called WEBRINGS. This site just became part of the TOP 100 W-Body Sites. Seeing how this site includes W-bodies, because these engines were available in them. I own a W-body which is a 1993 Pontiac Grand Prix SE with a 3.1 MPFI V6. At any rate, I submitted this site to that webring. I hope more webrings come along in the future.

September 2nd, 2000: Today I added a link to "Parts4Trade.com". They were nice enough to support our club and send a return link to us so I decided to return the favor. I'm currently looking for custom mufflers for my car. I have no clue on what to get. So many choices out there. I don't want to choose the wrong muffler, might end up sounding like a Honda! Mufflers are hard to pick, especially for a V6. If you have any suggestions please, e-mail me or leave something on the message board. Thanks for visiting!

August 16th, 2000: Today I added a bunch of part supplier links to the Links section. I hope there helpful to you on your search for performance parts.

August 14th, 2000: Today I added three links to the Links section. I added Curtis Walkers Z24 Turbo, Scott's Lumina 3.1, and Franz Peters Cavalier RS. Go check them out. Thanks for visting!

August 11th, 2000: Today I added horsepower and torque ranges for all engines except the 3.1 Turbo. I owe some thanks to Lorenzo Cuneo, for pointing out that each GM car had different HP and TQ ratings. I based most of my ratings on W-body cars which I am more familar with than any other GM car. I added ONE BAD CUTLASS to the links section as well. Fellow 3.1 MPFI owner Chris Elmore owns that Cutlass ragtop. Go check it out. Thank You.

August 10th, 2000: Welcome to the grand opening of Performance 3.1 V6! My name is Shawn Larsen and I am the owner of this club. Ever since I got my 1993 Pontiac Grand Prix SE, I noticed how relible the 3.1 MPFI V6 was in that car. On the web I discovered a few neat tricks to get more power out of that motor. Ever mod that I have done, the motor has responded pretty well without any failures. When I was on the web seaching for 3.1 info, I noticed that you can't seem to find much on the web for these wonderful motors. After I found a couple of sites, I was on my way! To this day there still aren't that many 3.1 sites out there. Don't get me wrong, there are a few but not many. I decided to create a club and gather 2.8/3.1/3100 owners and talk about there engines and cars. As of this day we have 58 members and growing! I started the club on June 17th, 2000. I have met many wonderful people though this club. Feel free to stroll around this webpage. I hope you consider joining the club! Thank You.
