U.S. Infantry, World War I

The United States of America played a minor role in combat at the end of the Great War.  American troop strength was never high when compared to the other large nations involved.  Still, American troops took part in two large offensives in 1918 and helped to convince Germany to surrender.

The only set of American infantry in World War I are done by Airfix.  The scultping is decent, but the sculptor chose to depict the men in the campaign hat they would have worn in training back in the states rather than the steel helmet they wore in combat.  I have converted these figures by using helmets from the Esci WWII 8th Army set.
