The German Wehrmacht was probably the best in terms of individual quality of any WWII combatant. Many companies have produced WWII German Army sets.

The Revell Panzergrenadiers set is probably the best of the bunch. Figures are in good advancing poses, with the look of men actually advancing under fire. Equipment is well modeled.

The Airfix set has little to recommend it. Poses are wooden, detail is flat, and equipment is minimal. Avoid this set.

The Esci set has tremendous detail. Faces, hands, weapons, and equipment are joys to paint. The poses, however, are so static as to be almost unusable. Most of the riflemen point their weapons into the sky. Still, this is a good looking set.

Another use of the plastic figures
is supplying crewmen for plastic 1/72 or 1/76 scale panzers. With
skillful use of a hobby knife, panzer commanders have been fielded from
two different sets for these Airfix models.
