The American Revolution would seem to be a natural period for wargaming: lots of very well known engagements, colorful uniforms, and a rich history.  Unfortunately, not many manufacturers have made sets for the war.  Revell issued the best sets, American Militia, and British Infantry.  Airfix made British Grenadiers and Continental Infantry, but they are not nearly as good.  No cavalry has ever been made, and conversions are extremely difficult and expensive.  Artillery may be converted from the Seven Years War Austrian Artillery set.
