Marcalie's PageMarcalie is our oldest child. Right now she is six years old, and feeling very grown up. She has lost two bottom teeth and has another one loose on the top! The tooth fairy gave her a dollar for each tooth. She hasn't spent the money yet, she is saving her two dollars. Pretty soon she'll have three. This is Marcie's kindergarten year, and we are homeschooling. Both Marcie and I are enjoying it. She is learning how to read this year, and is doing really good. She is really proud that she can read some of her books all by herself. She especially likes to read the Dr. Suess books and a book called Cookie Time. This year she is also learning simple addition and subtraction, and much more! She is also learning how to play some simple melodies on the piano. She can play Mary Had A Little Lamb, London Bridge, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and she is working on Jesus Loves Me. We are looking into buying her a violin and getting her lessons. She has been wanting to learn how to play the violin for almost a year now. She also has been wanting dance lessons, so that is also something we are thinking about. Marcalie got her first bike in December for her birthday. She has only ridden it a few times, because of the weather. She has waited patiently for all the snow to melt off the parking lot, now she has to wait for the snow and rain to stop falling. She did enjoy ridding it the few times she has been able to. I think Marcie is looking forward to summer even more than the rest of the family. Marcie is crazy about cats! More than anything else she wants a kitten. Now that we are in a house that allows pets, we are thinking about getting each of the girls a kitten. Marcie thinks that is the best idea ever! She is always talking about when she gets a kitten she will do this or that. Marcalie likes to watch videos (like most kids do), especially Veggie Tales and Prayer Bear. T.V. shows she likes include Blue's Clues, Gullah Gullah Island, Full House, and (oddly enough) Home Time on TLC. She likes to play Barbies with her sisters, especially since Aunt Suzie and Uncle Randy sent the girls a big, beautiful Barbie house for Christmas. Another thing she loves to do is help me cook dinner. She always wants to watch so she can learn how to cook. It is cute, and she is learning some things about cooking. Now that she is getting bigger, I let her help more and more. She loves to make things for herself and her sisters to eat. She also likes to play on the computer. We have three kids games she likes, Crazy Crayon (an art program), Dream Doll House, and Barbie Storymaker. Her favorite is Crazy Crayon. She also likes to go to the Barbie site, Nick jr. site (particularly the Blues Clues games), and Mousetown at the Vikimouse site. She loves to go to her grandpa and grandma's house, because they are more soft hearted than we are about giving up the computer so she can play. Marcie is very excited that we are going to have another baby. She definitely wants a brother this time. When Josie was born she told everyone "I wanted a baby brother, but I got another sister." This time, she wants a brother even more than last time. She says that if it is a boy, she thinks we should name it Felix, and if it is a girl she thinks we should name it Gabrielle. Marcalie is a great big sister. She loves and protects her little sisters, and she already loves the new baby. She talks and sings to it, putting her head on my stomach. It is sweet. Well, that is about it for Marcalie's page. Come back later to see some of her art work, and some pictures.
