Corrina's Page

Corrina is three right now, anxiously awaiting her fourth birthday in August. If you ask her how old she is, you will get "three, but I am almost going to be four." Pretty common in kids, I know, but I still think it is sooooo cute when Corrie says it.

Corrie is a spunky, independent, little girl. She has always had the attitude "I'd rather do it myself than ask for it". This, combined with athletic ability, enabled her to climb out of her high chair at 12 months, climb in and out of her crib at 16 months, and climb over the baby gates before she was two. We are planning on getting bunk beds for her and Marcie, heaven only knows what Corrina will do with them.

This is Corrie's last year with no school, next year she will be in preschool. Although, she insists that she is old enough for homeschool if Marcie is, and so I do teach her a little. She is learning number and letter identification, and doing pretty good. She does have a lot of trouble with number two for some reason. She is also learning preschool skills like the difference between same and different, right and left, sizes, and shapes. She knows her colors and shapes really well, and is getting pretty good at the other skills.

Like most younger sisters, Corrina is determined to do what Marcie does, and is quite upset when she is told she is too little. She is such a determined little thing, sometimes she just goes right ahead and does it when our backs are turned. Sometimes she surprises me by being able to do whatever she is trying, but we have had a few disasters because of her determination and independence. One thing I will say, we hardly ever have to encourage her to try. Most of the time she tries something new before we ever think she is ready to try it.

Corrie's spunkiness caused us to nick name her Punky. The name Punky just fit her to a T. However, she does not like nick names, and wants to be called Corrina. She doesn't even want Corrie, she wants Corrina. It is hard, but we try. We do call her Kina sometimes, which is what her younger sister Josie called her when she couldn't say Corrina. She doesn't mind Kina very much. But we have tried to leave behind Punky, as well as her other nick names, Core-Bear, Bear, Corrina Bean, Corrina Beana, Bean, Beanie Baby, and so on.

Corrina likes cats, and does think it would be nice to have a kitten, but she prefers dogs over cats any day. Whenever we go to a house where the people have a dog, Corrie is always ready to play with the it. She is hardly ever afraid, and will go right up and start hugging it.

Corrina also likes to watch T.V., although she gets tired of it faster than Marcalie does. Her favorite T.V. shows include Rug Rats, Blues Clues, Hey Arnold, and Puzzle Place. Her favorite video's include Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Wizzard of Oz, and Veggie Tales. She likes to play with Barbies Dolls and she loves to draw and color. She likes best to play outside, and now we have a nice big fenced back yard for the kids to play in. Corrina will be a happy camper this summer.

Corrina is just as excited about the baby is as Marcie is. Most of the time she say s she want's a baby sister, but sometimes she says she wants a brother. She says that she thinks we should name it John if it is a boy, and Lollie if it is a girl.

Well, that is about it for Corrina's page. Come back soon to see some pictures of Corrie, and also some of her art work.
