FORMER Beatle George Harrison, who died November 29, 2001, was knighted posthumously by Britain's Queen Elizabeth, in the traditional New Year honours list. In 1965, Harrison and the other Beatles were each awarded the MBE, a middle-ranking honour. The guitarist, singer, songwriter and recluse died aged 58 in Los Angeles after a long battle against cancer.
