Basically, this page includes links, downloads such as skins, quake maps, etc. I will try my very best and upgrade this page at least every week. What is Quake (for anyone that shouldn't know...)
Quake is a First person 3D shoot'em up game.
That means that you see the maps through the eyes of the killer :-).
Quake is produced by Idsoftware.
The idea of a "through the eyes of the killer" game started with, an today ancient game, Wolfenstein. Then came Doom and Doom2, also created
by Idsoftware. The real breakthrough in "through the eyes of the killer" games was Duke Nuk'em "3D". It had graphics, never seen beautifuller
before and was revolutionizing in the genre. But - then came quake. Quake's graphics "engine" awarded itself by generating real 3d objects, were
Duke's 3D was only a lot of bitmap pictures that just gave the appearence of 3D
Also one of the things that have made quake The best is the Quake compiler patches. Quake has a build-in function, (the -game option),
wich allowes Quake users and others, to write programs/patches to modify the gameplay of Quake.
Patches like TeamFortress, Future vs. Fantasy and the
Killer quake patch, has always keept Quake new, fun and different.
A new version of Quake, Quake2, has recently been released.
This version features even better looking 3D graphics, also due to the support of 3D accelarators.
Quake multiplayer
Quake is one of the best multiplayer games, ever.
Also in multiplayer, the Quake patches always renews the game and one of the most played multiplayer

A few years ago, a little company called 3DFX, released a little qute video chip called 3DFX Voodoo. This chip is able to speed up 3D graphics and
Filter it into graphics youve seen in Star Wars and Jurrasic park (atleast almost :-). Quake was one of the first games to support these 3Dfx chips
