Remember, these are codes for the U.S. Version Pokémon Blue and Red.
NOTE: Any code involving Missingno. can mess up your game. Usually, Missingno. will only mess up your Hall of Fame. It will only mess up your Hall of Fame if you encounter him AFTER you beat the game. But, I wouldn't catch him if I were you. HE IS A VIRUS. Some people claimed to have their saved games deleted because of having Missingno. If you don't catch him, the only thing messed up should be the Hall of Fame. If you fight Missingno. and he screws up more then just your Hall of Fame(and you haven't actually caught him) please let me know.
CODES THAT WON'T REALLY HELP YOU:
STAND ON TOP OF TREES
Cut a tree. Stand where the tree used to be. Save the game. Turn off the Gameboy, and turn it back on. You will be standing on top of the tree. Also, when I say tree, I mean the trees you cannot get past unless you cut them.
WHAT'S A TRUCK DOING BEHIND THE S.S. ANNE?
Instead of getting the cut HM from the S.S. Anne, have a friend trade you someone who has cut. Get the badges that let you use Surf and Strength. Walk up to the guy who asks for your ticket, when you show it to him, instead of going on the SS Anne, surf to the right. You will see a truck there. If you don't have a link or a friend who plays, do this trick: After you get cut from the Captain, go fight a trainer and let him beat you. You will black out and wake up at the Pokémon center, and the SS Anne will still be there.
Ghost PC!
Go to the Celadon City Hotel. Go right as far as you can. Then, when you are in the upper right hand corner of the Hotel, walk down two spaces. Walk up one space. Push "A". What's that? A computer? I don't see any computer, but it still got turned on somehow. You can use it as a regular computer.
GAMBLER ON THE ROOF
Okay, first make sure your Secret Key is not with you. Now, surf into the water off the east side of Cinnabar Island. Make your surfing Pokémon be in the spot so that when you walk onto the land again, he will be to the right side of the door to Blaine's Gym. Walk up to the door (moving left). It will say it is locked. While it says that, a guy will be on the roof!
HOW TO CATCH MISSINGNO.
First, go to Cinnabar Island. Trade with someone on the Island. Surf up and down the east coast. You will hear battle music, and the screen will go black, like it does when you normally fight. But when Missingno. is there, the screen will be black a couple seconds longer. Beating him gets you 1634 EXP. Points. But, read the warning at the top of the page first. You can also get Missingno. this way: Go to Viridian. Have the guy in Viridian show you how to catch a Pokémon. After that, fly to Cinnabar, and surf up and down the east coast. Eventually, you will see Missingno.
CODES THAT WILL HELP YOU:
CATCH SAFARI ZONE POKEMON OUT OF THE SAFARI ZONE!
Okay, walk into the Safari Zone, and either walk out or wait until your time runs out. Go directly to the Seafoam Islands. Do not get on the Islands. Before you get on, Surf up and down the coast, so it looks like you are half on land and half in water. Evetuallt you will run into a Safari Zone Pokémon. After that if you keep surfing up and down the coast, you will run into more Safari Zone Pokémon. Also, i am pretty sure this trick works wherever you are. For example, if you were just in a patch of grass where there are Pidgey's, Rattata, ect; you will run into those kind of guys when you surf up and down the Seafoam Islands. I think this code should also works if your Surf up and down the East Coast of the Cinnabar Island.
DUPLICATE ITEMS
Talk to the guy in Viridian City who teaches you how to catch Caterpie (you know, the one who faints, and won't let you pass until you deliver Oak's Parcel). Say you aren't in a hurry. After he shows you how to catch Caterpie, fly to Cinnabar Island and surf up and down the east coast. Before fighting him, put an item at the sixth place on your item list (push select on it, put the arrow next to number 6, and push select again). Fight Missingno. After beating him, go to the items list and see the item at number 6. There will be a picture, and a number, you will have many of that item, maybe unlimited. Try this with Rare Candies and Master Balls. It'll be lots of fun :-) Read the warning at the top of the page.
Fish and Surf in statues?
Most of the statues you can fish in (except for the small statues like the one in Blaine's Gym) and catch Magikarps. In Misty's Gym, using Super Rod and Good Rod you can catch other Pokémon like Poliwag. Also, in most of the statues (except for the small ones like the one in Blaine's Gym) you can also surf. Just face it, like it was water, and make your Pokémon surf!
