Dragon Warrior 97 - Being a moderate hacker, I was always curious how to
change the text in a Nintendo ROM image. While I was playing around with
NESticle (gotta love it) it finally hit me. I booted up Hex Workshop and tried
something... It worked!! I quickly wrote 2 programs in Pascal to assist me in a
complete re-write of Dragon Warrior. One converted regular ASCII text to the
HEX values used in DW, and the other loaded up the ROM and dumped an entire
conversion of the HEX to regular ASCII. This is not 100% done!! If I get bored
one day I will change the last of what needs done and it will be posted here.
PLEASE if you download DW97 the only thing I ask is that you
e-mail me and tell me what you think
of it. Hell, if I get enough I might even re-write another RPG!
