Idaho Asperger and Autistic Spectrum Disorders Support Group
Due to the lack of an appropriate meeting place, and vacation and family commitments, we do not have any meetings currently planned. This is currently an on-line support group only. If we can find a place and a time to meet, the information will be posted here. Many of us find it very difficult to attend meetings and either bring our children, or find child care, so at this time this group consists mainly of this website and discussion board. To find support and talk to other parents facing the delights and challenges of Asperger Syndrome click on the heart at the top of this page and leave a message on the discussion board, or just click here. The message board is new, so be patient until enough people discover it to get some really good discussions going. Leaving your own message will help a lot. If enough people show an interest, I may be able to start an e-mail list for this group. If you are interested in joining an e-mail list, please send me a message indicating your interest.

Vehicle Safety Restraints

Some parents of children with Asperger Syndrome have difficulty keeping their children in regular seatbelts. We had this problem, and it was very difficult to find anything either locally, or on the Internet that suited our particular needs. We finally found a school bus products company who carry a wide range of child restraints for use in vehicles. They are EASYWAY Products Co., Phone: 1-800-543-4532. They were very helpful to us and sent us a catalogue. They have buckle guards (to keep the child from opening the seat belt buckle), car seats, and safety vests.
