Space, the final frontier... These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise... Her continuing mission... To explore strange, new worlds... To seek out new life and new civilisations... To boldy go where no-one has gone before!

Sorry, just had to put that in!

Now, if you hadn't already guessed, the I'm a Trekkie. Well, more a TNG Trekkie than anything. Not that I don't watch the other... three series sometimes. I do, just not often (like I'm going to stay up until midnight to watch 'Voyager'!). Anyways, now that you know everyone's name, you should probably find out a bit about them. It's only fair!

Well, this is Piccers and unless you weren't reading correctly, you'd already know he's the Captain of the Enterprise. Born in France in the year 2305, he entered Starfleet Academy in 2323 (after failing to get in in 2322). He graduated in the year 2327, not long after which he was involve in a bar-room brawl which led to him undergoing a cardiac replacement. When a lieutenant, he served about the Constellation-class USS Stargazer (NCC-2893) - which he later commanded until it was destroyed in 2355. Although exonerated by a Starfleet court martial, he was stuck in a desk job until taking command of the Enterprise-D (NCC-1701-D) in 2363. Since then he's met some nice people, some not-so-nice people, travelled all over the galaxy and copped off with some wierd and wonderful women. The Enterprise-D crashed into Veridian III in the year 2371 while trying to prevent Dr Tolian Soran (your typical meglomaniacal psycho) from destroying the entire Veridian system. The Enterprise-E (NCC-1701-E) was commisioned not long after and Picard took command of it in 2372.

Perhaps we should just knock? -- "Star Trek: First Contact"

Executive officer of the Starships Enterprise-D and Enterprise-E, Will (or more rarely, Bill) was born in Valdez, Alaska in 2335. He graduated the Academy in 2357, ranked eighth in his class - and as of 2369 he'd been decorated five times. His first assignment was to the USS Pegasus (NCC-53847), an Oberth-class vessel, which disappeared mysteriously in 2358. At some time he was stationed on the planet Betazed, where he met psychology student Deanna Troi, enjoying a brief romantic affair with her. Will left Betazed to join the crew of the USS Potemkin (NCC-1657), and later became executive officer on the USS Hood (NCC-42296). He joined the crew of the Enterprise-D in 2363. He refused command of three starships (USS Drake, USS Aries and USS Melbourne) in order to stay on the Enterprise - though he was given a field promotion to Captain in 2366, when Picard was assimilated by the Borg. He is also known as 'Number One' by a select few, and since the commissioning of the Enterprise-E he has again become involved with Deanna Troi. Some women have all the luck!

What's a knockout like you doing in a computer-generated gin-joint like this? -- "11001001"

Born Beverly Howard in 2324, Bev graduated from Starfleet Medical in 2350 (somehow finding the time to marry Jack Crusher and give birth to Wesley in that time). She did her internship on Delos IV in 2352, continuing to pursue her career even after her husband's death in 2354. She was appointed Chief Medical Officer aboard the Enterprise-D in 2364, but she left to become head of Starfleet Medical in 2365 (her replacement, Dr Katherine Pulaski, was a right-royal cranky, old fart). She returned to the fold a year later, and got the opportunity to command the Enterprise in 2369 when almost the entire crew transported to a planet to search for Data. Bev has a great interest in theatrics and acting, directing several productions in her spare time.

If there's nothing wrong with me... Maybe there's something wrong with the universe! -- "Remember Me"

Born in 2336 (conjectural) to a human father, Ian Andrew Troi, and a Betazoid mother, Lwaxana Troi, Deanna is an empath - able to sense the emotions of most species. She studied psychology at the University of Betazed before joining Starfleet sometime around 2358, graduating from the Academy in 2359. She became counselor on the Enterprise, presumably in 2364 with the rest of them. Like Beverly, Deanna also briefly took command of the Enterprise, this time when the starship was disabled from a collision with two quantum filaments. As a result of this (and a university reunion) she took the Bridge Officer's Exam and was promoted to commander on stardate 47611.

Timeline?!? This is no time to argue about time! We don't have the time!... What was I saying? -- "Star Trek: First Contact"

No, he doesn't have a bad case of jaundice and don't you dare say he's a toaster!! Data is an android, gottit? AN-DROID. Okay, now that we've got that off our chests... Data was created by Dr Noonien Soong, and his wife Juliana, around 2335 on the isolated Omicron Theta outpost. Not long after his constuction, the colony was attacked by the Crysatalline Entity and his 'parents' fled, leaving him behind in a secret cave. He was discovered by the crew of the Starship Tripoli (NCC-19386) in 2338, subsequently joining Starfleet. Data's body closely mimics human form (with the exception of the colour scheme... and, yes, he's 'fully functional, programmed in multiple techniques'), and contains approximately 24.6k of triploymer composites, 11.8k of molybdenum-cobalt alloys and 1.3k of bioplast sheeting. Oh, and he may or may not have some biological components - depends on who you ask. Prior to his assignment on the Enterprise, Data served aboard the USS Trieste (NCC-37124). During his tour-of-duty as second officer on the Enterprise Data has: copped off with the security officer, had his rights as a sentient being challenged by some jumped-up scientist who wanted to pull him to bits and see what made him tick, discovered he had an evil brother, saved an omnipotent being that wasn't so omnipotent from being killed by a giant squid, been father of the bride at a friends wedding, been assigned command of a starship during the Klingon civil war, been thrown back in time to the 19th century, tried to grow a sense of humour (didn't work), acquired a cat (Spot), copped of with yet another chicky, started having dreams about birds and miners, developed multiple personality disorder when an alien archive invaded his systems, created a daughter (Lal='beloved' in Hindi) who snuffed it about two weeks later, finally managed to have his emotion chip installed and copped off with the Borg Queen. Busy boy!

Please continue the petty bickering? I find it most intriguing -- "Haven"

Before you ask, that isn't a hairband he's got over his eyes - so don't bother. Geordi was born blind in 2335 because of a birth defect (which are rare in the 24th century), he wears a device called a VISOR which allows him to see a helluva lot more than your average Joe Bloggs. He graduated from Starfleet Academy in 2357, and went on to become a shuttlecraft pilor on the Jovian run between Jupiter and Saturn. Piccers actually met Geordi before any of the other senior officers, when Geordi piloted the captain's shuttlecraft on an inspection tour. As a result of this encounter, Piccers specifically asked for Geordi to be assigned to the Enterprise in 2364. After the shuttle run, Geordie served as an ensign on the USS Victory (NCC-9754). He started out as flight controller and junior grade lieutenant on the Enterprise, before being promoted to full lieutenant and chief engineer in 2365, and to lieutenant commander a year later. Unfortunately, Geordi isn't that good with women, which has led to something of a bad rep with his habit of 'creating' them on the holodeck. He accepted the posting of chief engineer on the Enterprise-E, and by stardate 50893 had been given ocular implants to replace his VISOR (but still functioned in the same manner). And we thanked the lord for that.

I spent two hours having a cozy little chat with the computer -- "Violations"

Born in 2340, Worf was the first Klingon warrior to serve in the Fedaration. After the massacre at Khitomer, where his parents we killed, he was adopted by two humans and raised on Earth. He graduated the Academy in 2361. Like the others, he was assigned to the Enterprise in 2364, where he was reunited in more ways than one with Ambassador K'Ehleyr - who later bore his son without Worf knowledge. Starting out as a lieutenant j.g and conn officer, he was promoted to acting chief security officer and made a full lieutenant after the death of Tasha Yar. When K'Ehleyr was murdered in 2366, Worf took custody of his son Alexander, who he sent to live on Earth (but came back to the Enterprise not that much later). Worf lives in the rigid, ceremonial ways of the Klingon warrior, which is great for those who are blood-thirsty - but for the ambassadors, he could get mildly annoying. When he suffered a permanent spinal injury he opted to perform the Klingon ritual of suicide, Hegh'bat (lucky for him, Doc Crusher's friend Dr Toby Russell operated and caused a Klingon physiological redundancy to come into play). Worf was promoted to lieutenant commander in 2371, not long before the Enterprise was pancaked on Veridia III.

I protest. I am not a Merry Man -- "QPid"
