The Bear
As it was told to me on 10-15-00
A middle-aged man went for a walk on his land here Logan, Ohio.
After he was in the woods for awhile he saw a tree that he
thought had been hit by lightening.
he walked to the tree to take a better look at it.
When he got close to it he saw that lightening had not hit the tree
At all and he knew that it was a bear that had clawed the bark off the tree.
At that time he was filled with fear. He was alone in the woods.
He thought I have nothing to fight this bear off and no one with me.
He left the woods at once.
He was so full of fear that he walked very fast back home.
A few days later he was out in his yard working and
all at once there was the black bear watching him.
He watched the bear and the bear watched him.
After a few minutes the bear walked away.
As if to say hello to him.
The mans name was Lee and he will never forget the bear
That he saw that day. And I am sure that the bear will
Not forget him as well.
So you see, even at close range like that, the bear did not hurt him.
He did not hurt the bear.
I guess the bear just wonted him to know
That he knew Lee had been to his tree to visit, so he stopped in to visit
With Lee for a few minutes.
We can all learn from this.
They will live in peace from this day on.
Neither one wishes to harm the other.
These are true, and I hope it has opened some eyes,
so that we can learn to live together with the our Creators creatures
on this land, before it is to late.
The bison is almost gone now, due to people not understanding them.
