The Cherokee Corn Necklace
Many, Many, Many years ago
During the early 1800, The real people,
as the Cherokee called themselves,
Were rounded up like cattle.
They were forced to leave their
homeland and walk West to a new land.
They cried many tears of sorrow and grief,
and hopelessness.
But where their tears hit the ground,
A plant sprang up from the ground.
The seeds look like tears and
Their color is the color of grief.
These seeds have a natural hole in the center.
Today the real people wear the
seeds in necklaces
and medallions in memory of
The Trail of Tears.

This picture is of the 1800's
Cherokee Corn Necklace.
The newer picture is below.
Thank you for sending the pictures to me.

If there is any one out there that
knows where I might find the Cherokee Corn seeds.
Would you be so kind to e-mail me and let me know.
I have been unable to locate them.
Thank You
