"Jesus said unto them, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment." (MATT 22:37-38)
2. Do you pray to, or worship any person, place or thing, other than Jesus Christ? This would also include yourself.
Y or N
Many people make a god to fit their image. Their positive that their god would never send them to hell, because he is a loving god. And they are right. Their imagined god could not send them to hell because he does not exist. Many have shaped a god from their own imagination, a god that will accept their sins.
3. Have you ever used the name of Jesus to express disgust, or in place of profanity used todescribe filth?
Y or N
". . . For the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain." (EXODUS 20:7)
4. Do you keep the Sabbath day holy, the seventh day of the week as God commanded?
Y or N
If you are one of the few who do hold to the Sabbath, have you been faithful to not do any work at all? Not only you but also those under your roof. Read (EXODUS 20:8-11)
5. Have you truly honored your father and mother?
Y or N
We live in a rebellious generation where the word "honor" has many definitions. The one that would apply here would be: high regard or great respect given. And if you feel you have been harmed in some way by your parents (and many have) do you have a forgiving attitude for their shortcomings?
6. Have you ever committed murder, hated or disliked someone without just cause?
Y or N
"Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him." (1JOHN 3:15)
7. Have you ever committed adultery?
Y or N
"But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart." (MATT 5:28)
8. Have you ever stole something, even something small or of little value?
Y or N
(1COR 6:10) tells us that thieves will not inherit the kingdom of God. Whether it be $1 to a $1,000,000 the sin and the penalty are the same without Jesus.
9. Have you ever exaggerated the truth told even one lie, even for a good cause?
Y or N
". . .and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." (REV 21:8)Yes, this would include white lies and exaggerations. Be honest with yourself, and God.
10. Have you ever coveted anything?
Y or N
Are you greedy or materialistic? Have you ever envied something that somebody else has? 1 COR 6:10 warns us that the covetous will not inherit the kingdom of God.
If you have answered yes to any of these questions, then you have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." (l JOHN 1:8).God's Word also tells us
"For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." (JAMES 2:10)You can clearly see that all are guilty of breaking God's Holy law. We will not be judged by man's standards, but by God's. A man that judges his righteousness with comparison to others is not wise. Read: (2 COR 10:12). God is a God of judgement and as a righteous judge God will pass the sentence of hell down to all those found guilty of any sin. The Bible tells us that God's word will not return unto Him void. In other words what his says in His word He will do! God will honor His Word just as a judge honors the letter of the law. God does not want to see you perish.
Along with being a God of judgement He is also a God of mercy. In His mercy He has provided a way,the only way, to free you from the judgment of eternal hell.
