This List Of My Favorite Things Is Completely, Completely Valuable!
THERE ONCE WAS A TIME... when people thought the world was going to end. Four horsemen. Walls of fire. Computer glitches. It was around 1999. After that, everyone realized the world was going to last forever.
I myself never pondered the end of the world until now. In fact, it wasn't until yesterday that I thought about the world's end. "Holy smokes!" I thought (I think in non-profanity). What if the world DID end? What if the only things left were ashes, dust, and fiber optics? What if the only proof of my existence was in a computer's memory?
That's when I relaxed a little. "Ahhhh yes, the Internet." So I went around and found every web page that featured my writings, performances, etc. and collected them here at a central hub. Now, everything's collected into a nice, tidy pile. Now it has meaning. Now there is value. I'm just as important as those who have web pages. I'm just as important as those who have written best-selling books. Built skyscrapers. Ruled nations. I'm just as important as that guy who got on t.v. because a video showed him getting hit in the genitals.
I have a web page. And it proves my existence and/or importance in the world. Thank you, Jesus.
