Hueston Woods Campground Mound
This single conical mound, approximately 15’ high, lies about 100 yards west of row B in the class A camping section of Hueston Woods State Park campground. The feature has not been excavated so its actual cultural affiliation is not known, but it is similar in size and configuration to other Adena burial mounds. The mound is located in a grove of old beech trees on a narrow terrace between two tributaries of four-mile creek. A log fence encloses the feature. The mound is reached by walking along a mowed pathway. The 200 acre beech forest in Hueston Woods State Park has been designed a National Natural Landmark.
