CAROLINE JOHN ABOUT JON PERTWEE
Caroline John talked about how Jon Pertwee was always looking out for his fellow actors. During THE SILURIANS the wardrobe department had her dressed in this short short skirt. She complained that she was supposed to be climbing through tunnels and Liz Shaw would never dress so foolishly. Unfortunately the wardrobe people told her to wear the skirt and do the job. When she walked onto the set Pertwee saw her and was angry. He demanded they change her to more sensible clothes and wardrobe took care of it in a few minutes.
THE WHO IMAGE
By the time the first Jon Pertwee season was on the air Caroline John was 6 months pregnant. At first she was paranoid going in public cause people were looking at her everywhere she went. For a while she was worried that it was because she was pregnant and then realized it was because she was on DOCTOR WHO now and was a celebrity. Terry Walsh claimed the real reason they had been looking at her was because he had called all the fan groups in England and told them it was actually Jon Pertwee's baby she was carrying.
GEOFFREY BEEVERS ON BEING RECOGNIZED
Geoffrey Beevers' most notable role on the series was the voice of Melkur and the decaying Master on THE KEEPER OF TRAKEN. He spoke about how starnge it is to have people come up to you in public and stop you cause they recognized you were a horribly decayed character on DOCTOR WHO. Beevers also played the doctor who has to decide whether Kryten is to go to the men's or woman's side of the prison in RED DWARF series 8.
