LOUISE JAMESON AND TERRY WALSH

Louise Jameson couldn't stay all day for the celebrity talent show so she just marched out on stage and did her skit before one of the panels. She played Leela trying to organize the Christmas pageant at a Gallifreyan kindergarden class. She used that actors and companions as the children and treated them accordingly. "Mr Tom Baker, why won't you be in our pageant? You said you would yesterday." "Adric, what do wise men never do?" Of course Mr. Hartnell, Mr. Troughton and Mr. Pertwee were the Three Wise Men.

Louise Jameson holds the actual knife prop Leela carried in the series. She told how Leela was supposed to throw the knife in ROBOTS OF DEATH and she had assumed someone was going to teach her how. She was wrong. The director told her not to worry about and just throw it so she did. The knife ended up in the camera mount 10 feet from the robot and 2 inches from the camera man. For the second take the studio was clear and Tom Baker had gone back to the dressing room. She was in the process of auctioning the knife off for a charity for orphans. Note the uncomfortable look on Geoffrey Beevers face.

Terry Walsh did various stunts on the series from William Hartnell to the early Tom Baker years. He told how when they were doing the Hartnell story THE SMUGGLERS they had to be these thugs at the begining of a scene then sneak out the back of the set, put on wigs, and come through a door dresses as revenue men in the same scene. All the wigs were hidden behind the tomb stones in a graveyard and, unfortunately, the first guy went to the wrong wig so most of the scene was spent with them wrestling in the fog looking for a wig. He also told how he saved Lis Sladen's life from a boating accident in REVENGE OF THE CYBERMEN with Tom Baker. The jet ski on the underground lake was out of control and headed for a rock when Walsh pulled her to safety. She was taken to the hospital immediately, her clothes were cut open down the front, and he had to play Sarah getting off the jet ski. If you watch the vid you will notice it is a very, very, very long shot.
