REF LEXINGTON CLASS HEAVY BATTLE CRUISER STATS

The Lexington Class Battle Cruiser was designed due to the fact the REF had no medium/semi-heavy sized assault craft (somthing between an Ikarzuchi and a Garfish). The first example of the class, the RSS Lexington, was commisioned in May of 2041. Lexingtons are armed with 6 Long Range Missile Bays, 4 Heavy Laser Cannons, 14 Medium Strength Rapid Fire Laser turrets, and an experimental EBC-30 "Yamato" Heavy Laser Cannon, 1/4 the power of an Ikarzuchis Mega Laser. The ship has impressive armor and is surprisonly faster then it looks. Within 1 year of the commissioning of the RSS Lexington, 5 other Lexington class ships were produced. They are often the flagships of smaller REF Attack Fleets.

4 Main Laser Cannons (2 per "wing"): 600 each. 6 Long Range Missile Bays: 450 each. Yamato Gun (mounted on the nose of the ship): 600 Manuvering Thrusters (12): 350 each. *: Depleting MDC of the Front Helm Section will destroy the entire section. Everyone in there will be instantly killed. Life support will be down as well as 4 Laser turrets, and 2 Missile Launchers. The Midsection will seal off from the Helm. The Yamato Gun will also be inoperable. The Bridge can be used as a backup control area. **: Depleting MDC of the mid section will destroy the connection between the Helm and the Rear Section. Life Support will be down in that section, and 4 Laser turrets, and 1 Missile Launcher will be destroyed as well. But each section can seal off from the destroyed section and still function.

***: Destroying the Rear section will destroy the main reflex furnace. The engines will be inoperable and make movement impossible. 6 laser turrets, and 3 missile launchers will also be destroyed. The 4 Main Lasers will be without power and be offline as well. The Midsection will automaticly seal off, as will half of the bridge, which is also connected to the Midsection.

****: Destroying 1 engine reduces speed by 50%, destroying both makes moving IMPOSSIBLE.

*****: Destroying the Bridge will instantly kill the bridge crew, Targeting Computer, Long Range Comm and Radar will be out, as are all sensory equipment. The Bridge will be sealed off from the rest of the ship.

SPEEDS:

Top Speed: Mach 14 in Space, can only make VTOL landings in an atmosphere.

Sublight: .12 the speed of light.

Fold: 1 Light year every 6 minutes.


WEAPON SYSTEMS:

1: THE EBC-30 "YAMATO" HEAVY PB CANNON: This is a medium sized, yet powerful, Particle Beam cannon mounted in the front section of the Lexington, it requires a melee to charge and fires out a yellowish, orange beam. There is no barrel or nozzle to give away it's location.

Range: 10,000 miles in space. 5,000 miles in an atmosphere. The beam is 100ft wide, but it shortens down to 30ft when it reaches maximum range.

Damage: The beam does 2D6X100 MDC.

Rate of Fire: Once every other melee. After every shot though, all other energy weapon ranges are reduced to 1/2 for one melee.

Payload: Unlimited


2: 4 HEAVY LASER CANNONS, 2 on each "wing" section, right above one another. They are capable of some pretty heavy damage and have a fair rate of fire.

Range: 8000ft.

Damage: 5D6X10 MDC per blast.

Rate of Fire: Twice a melee.

Payload: Unlimited.


3: 14 MEDIUM STRENGTH RAPID FIRE LASER TURRETS scattered across the ship, they are capable of 360 degree rotation and have a high rate of fire.

Range: 8000ft in space. 4000ft in atmosphere.

Damage: 1D6X10 MDC per blast.

Rate of Fire: 6 times per melee.

Payload: Unlimited.


4: 6 LONG RANGE MISSILE LAUNCHERS, 2 placed at each section of the ship.

Range and damage depend on missile type.

Rate of Fire: 1-24 missiles at once.

Payload: 24 missiles max.


STANDARD EQUIPMENT: Long Range Radar, Long Range Laser and Sattelite Relay, Hyperspace communications, Anti-Gravitycontrol system, Targeting Computer, Combat Computer, Sublight drives, and Fold Drive.
