How Anxiety Is Treated

As with all disorders there are medications available which work for some:

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAO inhibitors):

-phenelzine (Nardil)
-isocarboxazid (Marplan)
-tranylcypromine (Parnate)

Tricyclic antidepressants:

-imipramine (Tofranil)
-desipramine (Norpramin)
-amitriptyline (Elavi)
-maprotiline (Ludiomil)

Triazolopyridine:

-trazodone (Desyrel)

Tetracyclic antidepressant:

-mianserin (Tolvon)

Benzodiazepine:

-alprazolam (Xanax)
clonazepam (Klonpin)
diazepam

5HT-Reuptake Inhibitors:

-Fluoxetiine (Prozac)

The FOLLOWING are to get rid of the phobias:

Systematic Desensitization is a behavioral therapy used to treat anxiety disorders.

Relaxation Response is training to be relaxed.
Flooding
Exposure Treatment to the thing(s) you fear.
