I'm JennMarie and I live in a small rural community in East Central Iowa. My family ancestors are primarily German and Bohemian (please no bohemian or polack jokes, hehe). I am the oldest of seven (2 brothers and 4 sisters), so I've been doing a lot of cooking for many years.
My hobbies, besides cooking, are reading historical romance and John Grisham novels, listening to my vast collection of records, tapes, and now cd's. My favorites are 50/60's rock, Yanni, and country. I'm also a National Weather Service co-op weather observer/spotter. I've been an observer for nearly seven years, and spotter for two. I've also recently started writing poetry.
I am a self-taught crocheter and collect christening gown patterns. I also do tatting, which is nearly a lost art in these modern times, however both my grandmothers were tatters, so I feel I'm carrying on a tradition. Both grandmas and my mother were crocheters too, so there's another tradition I've learned.
I'm married, have four children of my own, three daughters and one son. I also have one granddaughter whom I intend to pass on pleasures that I enjoyed as a little girl when I visited my grandma's homes.
I also enjoy chatting in vp and icq. I'm also very active in bowling both as a bowler on two leagues (one ladies and one mixed league) and am a secretary for my ladies league and my hubby's men's league. I'm a very busy person and recently my hubby and I started our own business networking and selling air and water purifications machines. I'll be posting some of my favorite recipes to share with all who visit my recipes page. You're welcome to print them out and try, but please, do not post them to any other page without my consent. Most of the recipes here will be from my family's recipe book, "The Four Seasons--Generations" unless otherwise noted. I'll update this page on a regular basis, so if you like to collect great tasting recipes, come back and visit often.
