Quilts in Progress

These are the quilts that I am currently working on. When summer comes and school is out, I finally get to quilt.

Owls Around

This quilt was inspired by a combination of Fons and Porter and Eleanor and Burns and a burning need to have the piece of fabric with owls in it. The owls will be the center pieces of the log cabins. Other owl fabric is used for the centers of the square-in-square in blocks and the flying geese. This is another example of when I would like to have a scanner. It is on my list. Yellow was chosen for the narrow borders because there is always sunlight filtering through the trees in the forest.

Christmas Raffle Quilt

Our quilt guild does a block raffle about 4 times a year. These blocks were one of two sets of blocks I won last year. They needed something after I put them together. I put the quilt on EQ4 and played with borders until I liked it. This is truly a scrap quilt since so many different people made the blocks.

Flannel Churn

Flannel is one of my favorites. Although when the humidity is high it is difficult to keep from stretching it. This is much scrappier than it looks--fabric choices in EQ4 limited my choices. The center block of each churn is from a fabric with all kinds of north woods pictures. There are bears, moose, wolves, pine trees, and other motifs. I did not completely fussy cut this fabric, but I did try to get pictures where I could
