The mission system
Missions work like this. You will receive an e-mail telling you that you have a mission when it is your turn. I will usually only run 4-6 missions simultaneously, so don't be surprised if you don't get called a lot when the club gets a lot of members. When you receive the e-mail, go to the mission board. You will find a message with your name as the subject. This is your mission. To start, just post a response to the message. I will then continue the mission according to your response. Take this sample:
(MemberX)*to the fox* Who are you?
(me, playing fox)Who I am is none of your business. Who are you?
(MemberX)I am MemberX. What are you doing in these parts, and why are you so arrogant?
(me)*disdainfully* I am the chief healer of the Baron. Have you paid your respects to the Baron by the way?
(MemberX)No, where is he?
Etc., etc. Note to those who wish to join: If you cannot respond at least once a week, I don't recommend you join this club. Sorry! Eventually I will bring the mission to an end and you will be rewarded somehow, as in receiving weapons, money, etc.
NOTE: You may request to do your mission in the chat room. If you do, please mail me saying when you wish to do your mission (exact times please!). If this is a convineint time for me, I'll meet you in the room. Otherwise, you may have to do your mission on the mission board anyway.
The money system
The official currency of the Nomad League is the nolad. I tried to make a nolad worth more than an American dollar but less than a pound, so as to make conversion easier for people in England and America. Sorry Canadians, but I don't know the conversion rates. Anyway, nolads can be used to buy weapons, supplies, bribe people, etc. All characters in missions will accept nolads as money. When you join, you will receive a loan that must be paid off before promotions beyond Nomad level(see below) can be received. Use this to buy some stuff from the store and then wait for your first mission. You can also earn nolads by writing stories and poems, sending in recepies, finding mistakes in the club and winning contests. You get 10-15 for stories, 5-10 for poems and recepies, and 2-5 for errors.
Ranks
All members start at the Joiner level. Upon the completion of your first mission, you will be promoted to Nomad. Additional ranks can be earned by distinguished action in missions, writing stories and poems, sending in recepies, finding mistakes in the club and winning contests. You can only gain rank if you have no debts(see above). A list of ranks is as follows:
An exception to this is if you decide to run part of the club. For instance, if you want to run a permanent contest in the club, you will be automatically promoted to officer, even if you have debts.
Another thing to note is that members can "recruit" Other members of lower rank in the club to help with a mission. Both members will get credit according to their actions, BUT If a member recruits another member for help and I deem that help was unneeded, they will be exacted a stiff fine. You may also recruit members of the same rank, but only by request. If they don't want to help, they don't have to.
